Stranger than fiction! So is this the 3rd....4th or 5th death of Atomic? Maybe this puts thier return to the Close Combat Series on the fast track.

My guess is they'll find another publisher who'll take the risk.

Someone should seriously make a game about bombing of Hamburg to remind everyone what real war means.

After the recent news publisher Konami had told Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun it had opted to not release Six Days in Fallujah, we shot developer Atomic Games a line seeking comment from head Peter Tamte.

Here is Atomic's response in its entirety:

We were informed on Thursday night that Konami had decided to pull out of Six Days in Fallujah. This caught us by surprise. Development of the game had been progressing very well and on schedule. We would very much like the opportunity to complete the game.

There you go - Thursday night US = Friday afternoon Australian.

We get the feeling there will be more to come on this one...just not with Konami.

7th way - turn it into a "Make Example of Fallujah" peacemaking game Very Happy .
It would be an alternative history version where USA deploys special death squads to turn Fallujah into a peaceful place devoid of all life Very Happy .

Everyone gets scared of USA and there's no sectarian violence Very Happy .

Damn, did anyone notice that all the protesters mentioned are British?
How can a few members of one nation block a global game?

On August 6, 2009, Atomic Games said that they were unable to get a new publisher yet and would let go of some staff [11]. A day later Industrygamers stated that they heard from a source, "Out of 75 people, less than a dozen are left and about a third of that isn't even developers. The remaining team is basically a skeleton cleanup crew that will be gone soon too. They are trying to downplay the extent of these layoffs, but the reality is that Atomic is pretty much dead."

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
