I hope this project is still going ahead.  It looked almost finished.  The pacific war theater is very interesting and we definitely need more mods there.

This battle has always fascinated me.  Please please please tell me it will be completed.

Hahahaaaa....  thanks for the vote of confidence, guys!  But, you would know, I JUST LAST WEEK returned to work after being un-employed for 1 year and 3 months.  I've been making some minor screen updates and massaging the data from that copied over from Okinawa.  I need to go out on the weekends and find some research materials!!!

I was watching a DVD in my collection "Snipers the story of the sniping war during wwII" It describes Tarawa specifically and mentioned that the US used assault engineers and snipers up front offensively. Marines were issued with the upgraded springfield a1 with 8x scope the finest sniper rifle of ww2. Scout Sniper title was held by the Marines who made the cut. Marine Snipers were pinned down for hours by Japanese Snipers.
