I saw Age of Heroes a while ago, could've and should've been a lot better, wouldn't recommend it. Horrible ending, too.
Watched Miracle at St. Anna yesterday, a bit better, but not really sure about that one either. Too long, mediocre battle scenes, but I actually liked the supernatural theme to it and the rare portraying of black US soldiers, although they were not done justice I believe. One small scene which was memorable for me, was a prayer scene, where 3 nations in war do the same prayer for salvation, in three languages at the same time. Who is God gonna root for? Bless the US? Germany? Italy? Also, the Bandenbefehl sequence left a big impression, of course.
"A Westerner finds refuge with a group of women in a church during Japan's rape of Nanking in 1937. Posing as a priest, he attempts to lead the women to safety."
Was a good movie. I found it intense in many scenes. Action scenes were very gruesome. I reccommend to anyone here.
Question about it though. The Chinese soldiers defending the city were wearing what looked like to be German helmets, they had stick grenades as well. Is this Hollywood or fact?
