Hi guys,
Before this project I never realized how much is left of the German Atlantik Wall in The Netherlands . Along the coastline thousands of concrete bunkers were erected and although the majority was demolished a good portion is still intact and some are even accessible. Typically, many of these structures have been preserved and are now in fact tourist attractions so that some of them are open to the public or have been included into bicycle routes. Incidentally, just as typical is the ongoing demolition of bunkers that are considered a nuisance. This summer and autumn I have photographed several of these remainders of German military structures. If you are interested have a look here: Galleries .
I hope you get an idea of what these Atlantik Wall bunkers looked like and a little bit of appreciation of what kind of resistance the allied soldiers were facing.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
