Already located in 2010 now the RAF Museum want to salvage the wreck this year. It would be the only Do17 relative good condition in existence.

Yes this made headline news here in the U.S. as well.  Amazing you Krauts really are superb engineers.  Although the primary reason why this plane has lasted for so long in pristine condition was due to its aluminum materials.  If it was steel it would have rusted away.

Believe it or not, here in California - we have rare He 162A-1 Volksjager and Me 163 Komet in museum.  Also one of my favorite planes a completely restored FW190 that goes on tours and still flies. Probably not the original engine in the FW190 but still it is very rare to still see one flying.  This place even lets you reserve passenger flights on warbirds.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
