What do you think of a 1 to 1 ratio mod on a hex based strategic map?
I think it is a great idea!

I think it is OK but I probably wouldn't play it.

True it could be more work but I think that, whichever way you do it, unless the BG(companies) on both sides are identical, and the maps in the north and south are symmetrical, it will be very hard without playing the Campaign through seveal times, to balance the thing anyway.

OK, then how about something like this? The US is on the offensive and must reach the rear OpFor supply hexes within a specified period of time in order to win. It would basically be Battle of the Bulge reversed with the US playing the attacker.

Why not try only one bridge to create a bottleneck you must open or die?

Can anyone think of any other problems for this mod which might present challenges to overcome?

You might start receiving hate mail from the "We hate hexes" faction hereabouts!

(Where is Simon these days?!)

Very Happy

More seriously, this looks like a superb project, but why not expand the stratmap to 8 x 8 and give us the "Universal Stratmap" as a spinoff!

You will have NO difficulty finding good maps to fill the slots.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
