Just wondering what is the actual effect on units that lack this is in terms of the game....are they harder to control, have lower morale or more likely to be killed? etc etc. Cheers
For infantry they just don't have the winter uniform color scheme.
For Tanks they may start the battle immobilized and don't show a winter color scheme.
I've been saying for a long time that weather needs more representation and to get everything weather related now across different CC versions together like:
-CCMT: Vehicles and soldiers have three color schemes (woodland, desert and winter)
-CC3: vehicles get affected by winter as in they get immob'd at the start of a battle
-New versions (TLD, WAR, LSA): Units get affected by cohesion and can loose men from teams if they get disorganized.
Put all this together and make harsh weather have a bigger effects on units not equipped, make teams loose men if they aren't equipped, start the battle with 2 levels less of morale and tired, have the weapons be affected by it, let us have 3 color options for the same type of vehicle. All this would only add to the fun.

Last week I was playing Moscow retaliates operation and after three days of bloody fighting LMG Infantry (with a single casualty) needed rest, but a command staff (not the main) didn't. Also mortair needed rest, but the AT gun didn't.
They engaged the same heavy fight, but the ones who did not need to rest were equiped for winter combat.
