Is it in any way possible to change sides in the middle of a campaign against the AI by editing the saved game file?

i tried to open a saved game file with notepad to have a look at it but it can't read it, is there a tool that can read the saved game file?

I use this on the re-releases.
It does NOT work on the older games.

I can't remember who made it.
I got it off one of the Matrix Forums and even then I don't recall which one.
Maybe tLD?
I tried looking in the Matrix tLD forums and cant find the thread.


I don't understand why the LSA forums are not listed in the Matrix directory anymore?
Or else I would look there.

It does work great though.

It showed me that in WAR the AI doesn't have the ability to assign support properly.
All to often the AI applies their support to Units that are on Maps that will in "MANY" cases never even see battle that turn.
I posted that long time ago but I don't expect a fix.
I'll bump that topic again and see what happens.
