Player's News: New Africa mod soon to come!
Posted on Wed Jan 12, 2005 9:01 am by bambam887
Close Combat 5 Invasion Normandy We already heard of two African mods that are in progress for CCV. Here is yet another which is soon to be released.
It is called: EL ALAMEIN!

This mod is done by andima and his son. They live in Italy and have been working very hard on this mod.
They were not in contact with the creators of the Africa 40-41 mod nor with the creators of the Afrika from Gazala to Tobrouk mod

This mod will focus on the battle at El Alamein (like the title implies). The beginning date of this mod is set at october 23, 1942. This was the 2nd battle at El Alamein. This leads to the total defeat of the Axis in Africa.

If you press the main screen of the mod, that will bring you to the picture gallery of the mod.

What is included in this mod?
- 44 new maps.
- Some icons and graphical elements form other mods
- New Italian voices

Some minor details need to be checked and some graphics still require some polishing up. This means that the mod is soon to be released.

Little help needed !

A picture of Australian engineers (with flamethrowers) is requested by the creators.
If you happen to have such a pic, feel free to contact andima at any time. The sooner he gets this picture in the sooner ....

I've been looking for such a mod since CC5 was first released...<br /> Italian bravery and lack of adequate armament characterized the italian campaign in Africa...if you get a chance have a look at "THE CRUCIBLE OF WAR" written by Barrie Pitt...great book!!!<br /> It will give you a detailed account of the whole african confilct during WWII while awaiting the release of this beautiful mod...<br /> <br /> Matt

Wow! Andima you've made HUGE, HUGE improvements to your mod over the last time I've seen it. (a year ago maybe?) Nice job mate. <br /> <br /> Can't wait to see the maps. So with your 44 maps and the NEW 44 maps that will FIRST be released with my mod, plus those released originally by Mafi there should be well over 88 new maps out there. Nice! Good to see this previously ignored theater coming to the forefront of the CC community.<br /> <br /> Good work!<br /> <br />

this looks great Andima ! and i will be d/l. But one point. My old man was there when the 900 gun barrage opened up on the 23rd. The Australian 9th and the 51st highlanders and elements of the 10th armour div attacked from the north against the Italian trento and German 164 div along with the 15th panzer and 90th light as reinforcements, and he told me he never seen a flamethrower till early in 44 when they were bac fighting the japs in the islands. i dont think any Australian personell where issued flamethowers before then. In the south the South Africans and New Zealanders also the free French brigade launched there attack and the 4th indian div fought at Ruwesiat ridge i dont know if these commonwealth troops had flamethrowers but i assume they didnt.

I'm waiting for this wonderful mod since long time. The Afrika front is my favourite.<br /> Many thanks for your job Andrea Di Matteo.<br /> You will give to all the italians CC5 players the possibility to play with italians units.<br /> <br /> We will see if it was possible to stop Monty and his huge quantity of soldiers and tanks, just only with bravery and the valour of the italians and germans soldiers.<br /> <br /> Ciao, Stefano<br /> Luft_XLegione<br /> <br />
