Idée lancée voilà 3 ans, le mod pour CC5 sur l'opération mercure à savoir l'assaut
aéroporté allemand sur la Crète en mai 1941 suit son petit bonhomme de chemin…
En panne d'inspiration depuis quelques mois, le 1er mod made in Club FFL repart.
Après une hésitation sur la formule à adopter, Couvrir l'ensemble de l'opération
de malémé à heraklion en passant par La Canée (Chania) et Rethymnon (retimno)
Ou ne se consacrer qu'à un seul secteur, le plus important, Malémé-Chania-suda bay
C'est la 1ère solution qui a été adoptée. Le mod couvrira la période du 20 mai au
28-29 mai. D'où l'absence des italiens dans l'ordre de bataille du mod.
44 nouvelles cartes seront normalement produites. Certaines le sont déjà. Très
peu de stuff en photos aériennes. Les photos et cartes terrestres ont guidé mon
imagination pour proposer des plans de cartes aux mapmakers.

Je tiens d'ailleurs à remercier les personnes qui ont bien voulu nous aider et
qui nous aide encore dans cette tâche :
- Moloch le grand pour les superbes cartes réalisées, la stratmap,
- Dom pour les autres superbes cartes
- Manoï… il devait faire une carte… c'est quand tu veux,
- FFL_Jag pour les tuyaux sur les datas,
- FFL_Slems, le roi des botteurs de cul… grâce à qui Kreta repart (si si j'insistes),
- Werner aka Aetius qui a réalisé des graphiques, et
- Les innombrables personnes qui ont bien voulu répondre à mes questions (Pzjager,
Sapa, CSO_Colonel_Olorin, etc...)
It's been 3 years since the idea was launched, a CC5 mod for operation Mercury
also known as the German Airborne assault on Crete in May of 1941. After a lack
of inspiration for many months, the first mod of the FFL Club has restarted. After
some hesitation on which formula would be used, covering the whole operation from
Maleme to Heraklion passing by Chania and Retimno or just covering only the most
important sector, Maleme - Chania - Suda bay, it is the first solution that has
been developed. The mod will cover the period from the 20th-29th of May. Hence
why no Italians are present in the Order of Battle of the mod.
Normally 44 new maps will be produced. Some of them are already done. There is
little information regarding aerial pictures. The pictures and land maps have
guided my imagination for proposing map plans to the mapmakers.
