Close Combat Player's News Since last months update a number of things have come forth. Mods, tool updates and new files...

Mafi has released his Afrika mod for CC2. After years in the making its available. Some of the features are 51 unique desert style maps, of which 13 are brand new since the mods release. All new vehicles, weapons, sounds and ops. Afrika is preconfigured and ready to play after you unzip it. You do need the original version of CC2 already installed. Just unzip Afrika to its own folder and your ready to play. Download CC2 Afrika. This version also comes with Mafi's new map, with ops, Desert Camp. You can also get the manual installation files from the Afrika Homepage. Here are some screenshots of Afrika, there are more in the Afrika Screenshot Gallery

Our CC2 maps section here at CCS has also been updated with thumbnail versions of all maps, which are clickable to see the fullsize or larger version. Check that out in our Maps Section. Mafi has also updated his CC2 Maps Museum guide which gives a more detail orientated version of most maps.

5CC has also been updated to v1.05a2, and CC2 Tools has been updated to v4.12.

Ubaew has created a Polish Voices submod. This gives all your Polish troops a new voice. It is meant for the regular version of CC2 patched to 2.0b. Download Polish Voice SubMod and unzip the plugin to your /Zeppo/CCII/Plugin folder to play. Just a reminder that if you want to play CC2 online, visit Tournament House to download Power Lobbies, chat with existing players and play on the TH Ladder. Also before playing online make sure you install patch 2.0b and get the brand new 3.3 patch from The Ammo Dump maintained by TogashiD

The New Armour mod has been converted to plugin for ease of use. You can download it now, New Armour Plugin.

A Stalingrad submod has been created named Real Grad. Unzip this file to your /Config Manager/Plugin folder to install. You need Stalingrad v1.2 already installed for it to function. The author says, "As I am A single play player, it made improvement to the game for me. I see no reason to suspect it would not play in H2H. This is first the stage. I plan to submit the weapons to further testing to calibrate the range and effectiveness of them more realistically, than they currently are.

Bloody Omaha is recieving some attention now by AT_Stalky, ANZAC_Lord4War, & Tejszd. The former or the three have cracked the no tracer fire bug and fixed it. Heres a proof! They are now working with Tejszd to create a patch that addresses the tracer fire among other things. We have setup a Forum and Screenshot Gallery.

Locally on CCS, Karelia 1 has been removed from our downloads section since Karelia 2 has been released. The Afrika 40'41 beta version has also been deleted. Its rumoured that Afrika is coming closer and closer to its release date. Last month Karelia 2 topped the stats with 128 Gigabytes in downloads, GJS came in second with 79gigs. Stalingrad came in 3rd with 56gigs.

CCS Image Upload is recieving a fair amount of use with 155 images uploaded so far. Theres no expiry time on the images uploaded and once uploaded you get the exact code to use for insertion to HTML or forum code. Look at the very top of the page for the link. If you are having trouble installing mods, need help making a mod or just want some info on units you can visit our How To's and Guides Section for that info. Theres a Trouble Shooting guide setup also for anyone having problems getting CC to run. French Version provided also. If theres anything not covered that you want to see, just drop us a line.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
