Farm on the right side has about six buildings. Looks like a single family operation.
The hill has mesa like steep cliff walls that plateau to genteler slopes. The structure lower to the left has a domed top and a compound wall. "H" looking structures appear to be a collection of smaller buildings. The diagonal line suggests towers or tall trees. It has a monastery look to it.
The river has two cataracts. One around the island near the "W" and one farther right. Not navigable, so not a trading route.
The "town" bottom left has side, or service road that is paved with different material than the (asphalt) highway, probably concrete. The buildings are large, suggesting local wealth. One south of the highway has a back area the size of a tennis court or covered pool. The line above them that angles up left shows a color variation in the vegatation, which suggest it is a leaking water pipeline providing water to areas south and downhill.
If this is a battle site, it is not WWII. I'd put it in the US as an Indian Wars site (but not Little Big Horn) or South African. Other than that, I'm stumped. |
