There is no split of ammo. The M2 has 550 rounds of AP as you state, but AP is all the same and in WWII simply meant ball ammo...or in other words, solid shot or FMJ...no HE Cap, no shaped charge(HEAT). It's all anti-personnel and it's all armor piercing...the armor piercing qualities coming from the size of the projectile and the charge behind it.
