It would have been a terrible expierence for germany, because how British people are about protecting their country. Germany would not be prepare for this and would fail, possibly ending the war early.

Well Germany never managed to get air supermancy, and since UK built more aircraft than Germany at the time so... no its was not an real threat.
And also the lufftwaffe didnt have the traing for attacking ships.
And the kriegsmarine didnt have many ships.
And without air cover it would had end up in a dissater.
