The .50cal HMGs in Wacht Am Rhein carry around 550 rounds. Split between Ap - Armour Piercing and AP Anti Personal. Most of the engagements do not have light armoured vehicles close in for the 50cal to be very effective. I think it should just be switched over to 550 rounds for anti pers.

It is a good MG but lacks ammo!
That´s why I never use it (CCV).

.50cal HMG in CloseCombat 2 is very useful when the germans has a halftrack. It could be very useful when suppressing fire to any infantry and some support teams.

I find that the .50 Cal HMG is useless in CC because of...
1) Not enough ammo
2) Too weak...

Wasn't the original .50cal HMG initially invented as an anti vehicular/armour weapon for WW1 usage? Or was that some myth i heard somewhere.
In anycase, low ammo and not as effective as i'd expect against infantry.
In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
