It is satisfactory but not optimal. Given the wide range of possible options on a map the AI does a fair job anticipating what the human players objectives are. I have played humans where their deployment choices made the AI look brilliant.

Crummy deployment would not make much difference if the ai was more aggressive during the match

Said No, but sometimes they are spot on. However, it depends on mod and map. Often in the most importain battles its down right... stupid.

Disclaimer to my post here is that as with 99% of games out thier, playing AI is always second fiddle that vs another person, even if the guy is an Aussie... The weakest part of CC is the AI, you dont need more than 12 hours of playing CC under your belt vs AI to predict what its going to do. The AI is stupid. It doesnt act tactfully during a game, and it deploys poorly as well. Disclaimer part 2.. at least on CC2, becuased of small maps, deployment isnt as bad...

But... it also provides another angle from which to play. Instead of deploying your own forces, just hit begin immediately, and pick up from where the AI has placed your Units! I can guarantee there will be times of panic!... ;) and the satisfaction when you get yourself out of a tough scrape...

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
