Blankenberg Bridge, or Bridge #8 in the 82nd Airborne plan, is one of four bridge objectives on the Maas-Waal Canal.  We must have at least one of these to get XXX Corps through to Nijmegen.  Move fast and capture the bridge before it can be blown by the enemy, and then worry about securing the area.
The Blankenberg Bridge is wired for demolition, but High Command has ordered that no bridge may be destroyed unless it is to prevent its capture by the enemy.  With four bridges across the Maas-Waal Canal, it will be difficult to prevent the American paratroops from gaining a crossing point.  So do what you can to hold this bridge, but if you can not, destroy it at all costs!
