Valburg
Valburg lies along the western route from Nijmegen to Arnhem across "The Island."  While the planned route for XXX Corps is through Elst, Valburg is a good alternative if the enemy defenses along the primary route are too heavy.  It is unlikely the Germans will be able to muster the troops and logistical support for a counter-attack from the Heteren area to the west, but it is an outside possibility.
Losing the Valburg area means losing the western route to Arnhem.  While this may not be critical, it does mean we will be forced to develop a front facing east to defend across the length of "The Island" and prevent our positions at Elst and further east from being out flanked.
