Veghel
The Zuid-Williams Canal bridge at Veghel is the primary objective of the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment.  The 1st Battalion will drop north of the  canal on DZ A1 (however the entire battalion was dropped much further west, in the Dinther area, by accident.)  The rest of the 501st will land on DZ A and attack the bridge from the south.  Once captured we must hold the bridge and keep the road open for the British ground forces.  Expect enemy counter-attacks from the east or west within a few days.
American paratroops are landing! Keep the bridge out of enemy hands, or destroy it as a last resort.  If the bridge is lost, organize a counter-attack as soon as possible.  If we can strike Veghel from both east and west simultaneously, we may be able to re-capture the bridge, cut the Allied corridor, and put an end to their plans.
