Westervoort is outside our planned area of operations, but it could become important if you are forced to improvise.  The Ijssel river bridge provides the only link in this area between Arnhem and the ferry crossing over the lower Rhine at Pannerden.  If you can seize the Pannerden ferry intact and capture Westervoort, you may be able to outflank German defenses on "The Island" completely.
The Ijssel river bridge at Westervoort is the only link between Arnhem and the ferry crossing over the lower Rhine at Pannerden.  If the Arnhem bridges are not available, this ferry route will at least allow us to move troops across the Rhine to reinforce Nijmegen or our defense on "The Island".  If the enemy has crossed the Rhine and Pannerden then this bridge must be destroyed immediately, or they could outflank our defenses south of Arnhem!
