13 september 1942, German troops are at the door
of the city, 6th Army and IV. Armeekorps have encircled Stalingrad;
they attack by north west, west and south. Their goal is to reach
the Volga and to destroy our faithful troops. The city of the
father of all the Russians will not fall, no step back!
Note : our U2 reconnaissance aircraft has been shot
so we have only reports from the NKVD. No aerial pictures so far.
Our glorious NKVD regiment 282 is placed on the
Mechetka to defend the bridge, unfortunately the river is dry
in this season and allows vehicle moves. Nests of resistance have
been placed south to flank the ennemy, north to prevent the ennemy
to skirt the river to the Volga and east to avoid the ennemy to
enter immidiately in the STZ settlement. The German infantry supported
by 4 StugIII f has taken the bridge but was not able to cross
it. Our glorious soldiers have taken heavy losses but keep always
the east bank of the Mechetka.

Situation on the Mechetka - 13/09/1942
Germans have entered the Red Barricades settlements
where we hope to profit from the buildings north of the sector.
As on the Mechetka, infantry supported by 2 captured t60 and 1
stug III (according to the report of our political commissaris)
has stormed trough the buildings taking heavy losses. Our troops
of the 149th Rifle division, mainly poor trained men have courageously
resisted but it was not sufficient to keep the buildings. Again,
as on the Mechetka, the crew of the T34's of the near factories,
were not enough trained to take out German armours.
