Stratmap : connections and artillery support

This stratmap depicts the city of Stalingrad in 1942 with the industrial areas in the North, workers settlement suburbs in the West, old town of Tsaritsa south and the city center.

All maps are connected to each one, execept those with the red cross (the game engine allows a limit of connections, so we have decided to remove the connections between maps with the biggest gullies and without bridges).

The drawings are not there to make it cool but give you an idea of each map: buildings, settlements or hills, the drawings give you an indication of the nature of the map.

Katyushas show the areas where the Russian player will have the Katyusha support available (old naval artillery). In fact the Russian artillery was deployed on the east bank of the Volga.

Stratmap : names of the maps

Here are the name of the areas. As you can see, we have tried to keep the most key points of the battle as the Pavlov's house, the grain silo, Red square and its Univermag building. Some names were changed as they were different for Russians and Germans, or were changed after the battle, so Red Square is also named Red Fallen fighters square and DTW become STZ in Russian (Stalingradskiy Traktorniy Zavod). The aerodrom is not Gumrak or Pitomnik, the most well known airfields of the battle; in fact these areas were at the West of this stratmap. The aerodrom here is Stalingradskii, a little airfield of the suburbs.

STALINGRAD is a completely inofficial modification to Atomic's , SSI´s and Mattel Interactive´s Close Combat 5 ™.

The mod will cover the september / october fightings for the city of Stalingrad in 1942. We want to make this mod as historical as possible but due to limitations of modding and h2h playbalance some restrictions will occur. The mod will change team weapon and vehicle data, graphics, sounds, the strategic layer and all of the maps to fit the battle for Stalingrad. To make it short, the whole game will be turned upside down.

You´ll need a full retail version of Close Combat V in order to be able to play the mod.
