Hi there,

I can't start nor join a game online via GameSpy (also the direct TCP connection does not work).

What can I do to make it work? Crying or Very sad

What's your operating system?

BTW, first you should allways look help from their tech support manual or faq.

I have Windows XP. It occured both, with the firewall switched on and off.

I already looked into the faq here.

Yes.

I'm a total newbie at online gaming and network related adjustments.

Its most likely your firewall. You may even have firewalls you dont know about. They could be...

3rd Party Firewall Software
Windows built in
Router
Highspeed modem

Its almost impossible for people online to solve your problem in this setting. The configurations vary immensely and theres no way to know how to configure every setup. Firewalls these days are usually a problem you have to figure out mostly by yourself. Its the unfortunate sad truth.

After trying to help the other day I suspect its the router settings. There's online help in Mooxe's 'Technical Support/Try here 1st section ' with the following link.

I think the answer to your problem is here - opening the right ports to allow a connection

All right, guys, thanks for the helping comments. Also Iron45, very helpful! Also the other day at GS.

I will look up the settings with the manual and then try to come back to Gamespy and try it again.

Damn, now I opened all needed ports in the router adjustment panel.

But: Gamespy freezes in after clicking "join game" in a game-room. And the game does not start.

aaargh, what can I do next?
