#1: CC5 patch and windows XP Author: stapleton_cotton, Location: BerlinPosted: Fri Sep 05, 2008 10:20 am — I have recently started using a new laptop with Windows XP. The game works ok (aside from the "DirectDraw" crash which I think has been resolved with CC starter). but now when I try to run the 5.01a patch the game will not open. I get "Cannot detect CD Rom" or something like that.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different folders, and generally pulled my hair out (there is scant enough for me to be indulging in this).
Can anyone help? I am dying to play GSJ but cannot without the patch.
