Thanks for kind words, Pzt_Kanov Smile
I've just uploaded some new screenies here:
http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=thumbnails&album=165&cat=0&page=5

The result of 'wasting' 2-3 weekends completely reworking the weapon icons files...based on the awesome weapon icons collection by Rogue5 and Squirrely.

Minor updates:
Brit teams data have also been revisited, thanks to Dima's impressive GJS TRSM data.
We are in the process of 'distributing' some SMLE No.1 Mk.III to the British troops...so they don't all shoulder No.4 Mk.I or No.5 Mk.I "Jungle Carbine".
Indonesian troops also use SMLE No.1.

The Dutch KNIL squads have been re-researched...and should be more historically accurate both in uniforms and weapons.
We're still researching some 1942 era KNIL weapons that might be used by Indonesians in the battle (especially the Johnson Rifle).

Hi, great job, the mod has a cool look, there are a D-Day for the mod???

If the mod its oriented to infantry like it seems...... Berlin mod - Stupid tanks and bugs hehehehehehe.

Now i am playing the other pure infantry mod for CCV, La Batalla del Ebro, but has few urban maps.

Cheers and good look.

Thanks!

Yup the mod will be infantry heavy...but there will be tanks (Shermans, Stuarts) and various vehicles (HT, AC, Uni Carriers, Jeeps etc) for the Brits.
In fact...just like the historical battle...Brits have no chance of winning without tank support.
So watch out for the Indonesian AT-infantry suicide squads armed with explosives and Japanese lunge mines! These guys are fanatical and can easily take out a Sherman (and blowing half the squad to bits in the process!).

Indonesians also have ex-Japanese and ex-Dutch tankettes, trucks and various other 'antique' vehicles Smile

D-Day? As a tribute to the battle: 10 November 2008.

Very excited about this mod!

Drawing attention to something less well known and outside WWII proves for some really interesting stuff, LOVE the new artwork updates on both British and Indonesian BGs. Keep it coming!

I'm hoping people are interested in BoS45 eventhough the battle was not well known (outside Indonesia).
BTW, BoS45 is not really outside WWII...technically just a tad outside maybe.
WW2 in the Pacific/Far East was over August 14, 1945 when Japan surrendered...BoS45 exploded 10 November '45...so not far off...kinda like the tail end of WW2 maybe Smile

Fair point there about it not being too far off!

But yes, I think there are a lot of fascinating stories that people just don't get to hear about, that don't get much coverage. This, Bir Hakeim and the Scheldt are all really good mods coming up that look like they'll be setting the trend for that.

But yes, some great concepts. I think Far East CC brings in a really unique feel of itself, so good stuff, and keep up the good work!

Looking forward to seeing the finished product. Keep up the good work SL. I've been mulling over trying to figure out how to make maps or a mod or something. I just don't have the skill set but thought I might take a swing at map making.

Out of interest SquadLeader, has BoS45 interested any (of your) locals who had never heard of Cloase Combat before; or are you waiting until you have a completed package before presenting it to them?

Pzt_Kevin_dtn:
Thanks for the continued support! Mapmaking is not fun...and we lost 1 of the team member to RL Sad

CSO_Talorgan:
Yup, a lot of Indonesian are interested in the BoS45 project...most have never heard of CC and are not CC players. The most interest come from Military Forum/Online Communities and local Game Developer forums. Not much interest from Gamer Communities (for these dudes, an old game is not worth playing Very Happy).
This is the main reason I took the time to experiment on modding the CC5 demo...so I can present a BoS45 demo (based on the CC5 demo) to the Indonesian Military and GameDev communities. This way, they can try BoS45 without owning CC5. We're currently working on a bunch of maps and battles for the BoS45 demo.

Historians who know about the BoS45 project have shown interest...one historian and author of a book on BoS have supported the project from the start.
Of course there are also some 'amateur' historians and WW2 reenactor freaks at the Indonesian online military communities.
BoS45 will expose a lot of Indonesians to CC...but I don't think too many will be hooked...CC is not for everyone Smile The novelty of BoS in game format will get Indonesian to at least sample a bit of CC5: BoS45 though...at least tty out the demo version when we release this thing Smile
