To not delay it any longer, Matrix has the digital download on their site. The box version and box version with digital download are supposed to be ready within the next two weeks.

They have pointed out that there is no upgrade from the digital to the box version, so decide if you want a logo-ed disc and a printed manual three weeks from now or if you want to play now and a PDF version of the manual is good enough.

I would wait to one patch because if you see matrix forum coi support, you will see many big bugs to one windows xp game.

No, you won't see "many big bugs". You will see people not reading the manuals and people with mess up installs.

You will see the vast majority having no problems and enjoying the game, unlike when someone tries to play one of your mods.

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tt.asp?forumid=425&p=&tmode=1&smode=1

And If I have not understand bad, the game can be bought on Matrix web site and next I can download it from Matrix web, no? but........can I burn on it a cd? or make a backup of the COI downloaded?

I´m thinking buy it on a future but I think that they do not go to sell it on Spain and good probably if I pay on dollars, I will pay less money than here on euros.

The digital download can be burned to a CD for backup, and you are allowed to redownload for 30 days after purchase.

The digital download has the manual in PDF format. The boxed versions will have a printed manual and a logo-ed CD. Evidently the printers are not finished with some or all of those parts. According to Marc S., the boxed versions will be first available from the US Matrix online store and will be shipped to the others, so it may be a few days before the others have them. If you order through the European Store, which from it's area code appears to be in Ireland, you can pay in Euros.

My box was ordered from "Webhallen" in November and i think it is worth the delay....if people mess the set up files up Rolling Eyes well, i have seen this on many mods because why read a read me file when someone has spent time to make it....this is the new generation, strike first and take the consequences afterwards...and blame some others... Sad

Tack is right that it is not compatable, but not so much as due to the new CC3.exe, but more from the same reason that players can't use different mods when playing H2H.

Cross of Iron's data and graphics are based on Real Red v1005's data, Dreaded88's vehicle graphics and kwp's Real Faust rarity settings, with a bit of tweeking on the data by Simtek, primarily to clean up some anomolies in the Element.txt from RR. In other words, it isn't the same data or graphics as CC3. A stock and patched CC3 player can't play H2H with another CC3 player with RR installed.

Now, if a CoI player uses the original stock data and graphics, he can play H2H with a CC3 player, and a CC3 player that uses CoI data and graphics can play H2H with a CoI player. Or any compatable mod combination.

The host player sets the CC3.exe that is used. A CC3 player with a CoI host will notice the AI tweeks. A CoI player with a CC3 player host will notice the lack of them.

Right now, the two editions are not compatible for H2H play other than both players using the same mod. There are several conversions of CC3 mods for CoI mods that have been done with more currently being tested out and those can be played against an original CC3 player. In a few more weeks alot more will be completed, including a CoI Stock and Patched CC3 mod, which will increase the number of players that can play H2H between those that use CoI and those that use CC3.

Thx for that explenatation Smile
I think this says it all for future play with guys who have the original one and those who have the new one (CoI) Wink

If i understand correctly if both players use the same mod in CoI and original CCIII they should be able to play on line correct => yes or no

Yes. A CoI player can play H2H with a CC3 player if both have, for example, the WF mod installed (and, of course, the required maps).
