HI
Am primarily a squad based-miltary FP-player.
Ghost Recon, SWAT, Joint OP's.
Looking forward to SWAT4, CC:First to Fight, Brothers in Arms, GR2.
I kept reading great reviews of Code Named Panzers and am getting addicted.
The RTS style has driven me away due to the micro management....kind of crazy makin for me, bbut am liking CNP.
Have seen some referr to the Close Combat series and suggest it highly.
If those in the know could suggest the best Close Combat versions I would appreciate that.
If there are especially good resources available to learn more about the series
please let me know.
i think there are some demo versions to download (here!?)
in my opinion, close combat 2, 4 and 5 are best SinglePlayer versions, the Campaigns are great.
for multiplayer 2,3 and 5 are the common games, where I prefer 2 and 3 because of the "buying" system....in fact thats why I think Close Combat 3 is the best for Multiplayer, through the "rarity" you can/must play a scenario more often with difficult tactics...and Close Combat 3 has the very very best Scenario Editor where u can use more than 400 different maps, Close Combat 5 has lots of maps and mod´s too.
Well, everyone will have their favorite one, so I would just suggest you download the demos and see which you like. Then you can get the full version of the one(s) you want.
CC5, Invasion Normandy is definetly the most popular (and best imo).
It's an active community with great new mods comming out all the time.
If you're into playing online then definetly CC5. We meet to play at www.gamespy.com

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
