or... you could use Alcohol 120%'s Image making wizard to make CD image of you CC disk on your HD and then use DAEMON tool (or even use Alcohol 120% Virtual CD/DVD tool) to mount the said image in order to play the game without having to use the CD.
I've use these method with my CC2 and CC4 and it works perfectly, athough you'll need at least 600 MB for each CD image.
Hey y'all. It's good to see that others are still playing this game and love it as much as I have for...well, years beyond the ken of my alcoholic brain.
I was searching for a way to play CC4 with no cd--I wanted to play against a friend who didn't have a copy of the game. I tried everything--the no cd crack--never worked for me. I tried using the Hex Editor fix, but my neanderthalic brain could not manage it. I have found a way to play without using the cc4 cd--but you need a cd for some other permutation of the game--cc1, 2, 3, etc.
It's actually pretty simple. You go into your cc4 main folder, open the DATA folder, and create an empty VIDEOS folder.
You have to have the cc4 disk for the next step, sorry.
You run the game and open Options. Uncheck Enable Videos under the General Tab.
That's it. Now the game should run with any Close Combat CD in the drive.
Hope this helps somebody.

Hi nodlew, your right about the creation of the "VIDEOS" folder. Unchecking "Enable Videos" also needs to be done. You can do this by holding down "ctrl" when launching CC4. This will bring up the in-game "options" menu. Backup!, then replace the "cc4.exe" with the "No-CD executable". You can find it in the "downloads" section, under "Close Combat IV\Misc\" on this site (CCS).
Step One: Create a "VIDEOS" folder in the "Close Combat IV\Data\" directory.
Step Two: Backup the "CC4.exe" and replace it with the "No-CD executable".
Step Three: Hold down "Ctrl" on the keyboard and launch the game.
Step Four: Uncheck the "Enable/Play videos" check box and select "Ok". :lol4

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
