Hi all, T-House went down forever several years ago due to a corrupted file issues as we attempted to transition the entire site over to being hosted here at CCS. Please let this thread serve as a rally point and say hi if you are a T-House vet who wanders by.

Hi Homba,
i'm writing you here because of the problem i have on T-House site forum and simply i don't see any other alternative in solving it; recently i've tried to change the email address associated with my t-house account, (sample), followed the standard procedure and subsequently my account was suspended and still is;

I still have yet to find a game that matches CC2 in head to head play. Tense, heady, frustrating and elating all at the same time. Oh the sinking feeling as a commander when the distinctive "whump whump" report of a salvo of panzerfausts is headed for the shermans I ordered to move through the woods or a city street. Or the elation when a Panther exposes its rear armor to a bazooka team or Flamethrower I have hidden in the brush. Nothing like it!
Although, I really haven't found or played a WWII game since TH closed shop. I have Arma II which is more of an FPS type though it does have a third person setting and you can control squad mates platoons etc. (at least in the single player mode) , but the controls are less than instinctive and they are actually quite clunky.I think that game shines in the multi-player mode, but I haven't tried it so far and they've already come out with Arma III.
I have all the CC titles, I believe, except the updated versions. Yet, I can't really seem to make the leap and play. I am hoping they will come up with an updated (completely overhauled and modern) version of CC, but from what I have seen the updates are marginal. Still maybe someday...

I have been watching that new CC title on Steam (I think Gateway to Caen), waiting for a deep sale in vain for a while now. I am on Steam on a regular basis, play 4 v 4 L4D2 a bit, with some local friends, it's fun because it's completely a asymmetrical fight like CC, even if it is a FPS. It's fun to yak it up during the games on the mic, too bad we didn't use that during CC2, would've been fun. Space Hulk is my serious gaming these days, you can play it in turn based increments, so good for my more constrained (than the majority of the CC2 days) schedule (married with kids now - some or all of these were not true during CC2's heyday), it is very tense, asymmetric and planning-intensive in 1 v 1 versus (in all those ways like CC2 - my gold standard for all competitive gaming).
If you're on Steam, send me a friend request, same name there.

AFK for a bit Yeah I'm begrudgingly on steam. I'm a bit of a luddite, took me a while to cave in, but you really can't play any aaa titles without it. Anyway, just sent a friend request. Name on steam is Paddy_Wagon. Surprisingly, more than one Homba on steam.
Playing a lot of Mount & Blade: Warband. After, owning the game for years and playing solo, I finally tried the multi-player... pretty damned fun. Hectic, combat, but sniping people with a bow or crossbow is kinda fun. The tactics are pretty basic, but some people are insanely good at that game, especially given that it came out in 09. A lot of people use team speak on warband. Ive yet to try it out (luddite). It definitely would make coordinating defense and attack tons easier

True, Mount and Blade: Warband has addictive gameplay, and multiplayer especially rocks! It is probably still the best medieval combat/FPS type of game out there, probably better than War of the Roses and Chilvalry titles in many aspects. I really look forward to the second game MaB: Bannerlord.

I'm not exactly sure, but I heard Bannerlord is a ways off. I Remember reading somewhere that they'll, Taleworlds, will probably have another DLC project, before Bannerlord is released. But since I am such a late-comer to multi-player I can keep myself occupied.
I usually play on the native [GK] servers, either Siege of Team Deathmatch, whichever has the most people on it. Its has a decent ping and frequented by a fair amount of people. Also, I think most players have migrated over to the Napoleonic and Viking multiplayer servers.

Hi Homba,
It will be great.
I ll be back on CC if the TH restarted...
Tout est possible ... il faut juste connaitre quand.
I'm guessing this isn't an option? I've heard about TH (I never used it) and I understand that it wouldn't be an easy task, but surely someone somewhere can re-write the code?

Wow!
Half the old gang, Homba, morca, Oce, good to see yas, not sure what made me wander in here but im glad i did, great to hear from you guys! We gotta hook up on something, Homba, try talisman, kinda your style. Morcs, the games of Alpha Centari we played live on in my memories along with many of our CC2 games, 2 tiger tanks included, i need to buy that game again, i heard beyond earth was crap. Oce, your right bro, nothing compares to CC2, i have ARMA also, and CoH (huge disaster) but thr closest thing ive seen to CC2 is a cheapo game called "Men at war" fabulous for LAN games, one set amount of points to build your army instead of factory spawns in CoH, anyways try it, its cheap as on steam i think.

Holy crap! Never thought I would see some of you guys again. I was Sgt.Mopem back then. Played in a couple tourneys with you guys at the end of the TH's life. Pulled out my old laptop to mess around with some Steel Panthers and seen I had CC installed. Fired it up and played awhile and then googled the net for some of your names to see if anyone was still around. Low and behold hit this thread with Homba's name. Good to see you guys are still alive and kicking.
I am still into the WW2 gaming. Play mostly Combat Mission (2nd generation) games. They can be played like CC realtime or you can play by email with a turn based system. You guys should check it out over at the Battlefront site. I hang out at thefewgoodmen.com most of the time which is a pretty decent site for wargamers. Maybe we can strike a Winter Tourney for old times sake.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
