After some hicups we finally got the war started tonight with a couple of battles fought.
Day One Morning Round:
Amphraville:
I came out hard and fast against Blackstump, grabbing up ground as I went. Eventually Contact was made with the Krauts on the outskirts of town. Drinks are on me as the Air Corps deliver ordinance right on the marker to take out this PzIV that got the drop on my R3.
Later another Panzer would reinforce the town, coming to greif under the weight of fire of the two crippled Shermans stuck in the trees.
In the south I spotted another PzIV and moved a pair of Shermans to take it out. The Sherman II kills the Panzer while the 76mm keeps watch (not shown)
Further south a Rifle team supprted by the Sherman II storm the Pont L'Abbe VL.
Battle Result:
Campaign result after the first battle:
Pont L' Abbe:
I was too caught up in trying to find a chink in Lord4War's defence to take pics, but here are some highlights:
-Lordy tries in infiltrate to the north and is hit hard by combined rifle and .50 cal fire. He makes it to the house but it is taken back by Polish Rifles.
-Most of the battle consist of me shooting at grenadiers in a two story building, and them shooting back.
-The Krauts drop an air strike on my Sherman 76 dmaging the main gun, blunting any counter in the south.
-Allies drop a mortar barrage on a Tiger/Panther combination, forcing them out of the town, were I sneak wolverine in to duel with the panther. After wounding the Panzer and crew the tank destroyer is killed before the job could be finished.
Battle Result:
Campaign Result:
Switched back to a German Minor Victory. There's not much in it folks!
Good games.

that 50 cal team done a fine job of keeping my guys heads down.
to tell the truth i went into the game expecting a meeting engagement lol
and was shocked to see myself surrounded.

ANZAC Blackstump v Dacman Corona Xtra merc
Battle 3 Meeting Engagement at St Jores
my team
Dacman gets first blood and a damn hard shot from a 6 pder, kills a mark four positioned to head south. Behind it is a momentarly traped command tank. Dacman uses these few moments of confusion to move troops quickly in to bridge house, and buildings further south to protect perriers rd vl.URL=http://imageshack.us][/URL]
Mean while up North a mortar barrage traps a 2nd tank between it and advancing troops. It is killed and a third tank is killed by a wolve advancing to take the cross roads with troops. Down South ,the Command tank has killed a river crossing sherman, at oppisite end of map and crossed the hill at lessay rd vl and moved into position, to engage crown xtra troops in bridge building. When it is immobilized by a shot from the wolve at cross rds, returning fire kills the wolve.
With 3 tanks down and 4th immobilized but in good position. I press my southern attack thru using covering fire from command tank and retook bridge vl.Then Perriers rd vl and on East. Dacman pressed forward on his Northern attack to take Pont l'abbe rd vl but was met by mg and ambushing troops, who then attacked across rd and took the heights on opposing hill. Support was used to sucsessfully destroy two at guns.

eventually dacman realises i already hit the BEGIN BUTTON, i guess some people dont realise once u hit this you cannot respond! i was almost screaming at the minitor to tell dacs to bloody press start! was like 6 minutes of pain watching him type this! LOL
in the end, i brewed a command sherman, but cleverly a 57mm was hiding behind it, almost as a decoy...why would u use a sherman as a decoy? anyhow my main gun was gone on me stug(air strike), so i used it for recon, found gun and was running away when i got picture, game ended without going to command screen, so no stats( AGAIN...AGAIN....)
guess he was waiting for a panther or tiger1, there back in the war chest, for now....keep em guessing!
He must have fugured that North had the most cover, and was the likely approach as it was covered by a tank and 2 stugs. That halted things for a bit and by the time I got in place to assault his PzIII time ran out.
He's right, I came in wanting to roll up the enemy's flank, and assembled a kick arse team to do the job. Marines and Assualt Pioneers spearheaded by Garand rifle teams and backed by a Sherman 76 and R3.
Right from the start I used the flame team to clear out buildings and rushed in infantry. The battle went so fast that the tanks couldn't actually keep up, I would have been better to take more infantry. I lost a 76 when it wandered out of cover. I find that is my biggest fault when using tanks, you really have to keep an ey on them or they'll expose themselves.
In the south I pushed a little just to see what was down there and ANZAC got the drop on me with a Pz IV.
In the end I think I went to early as a counter attack was launched after enemy teams were assembled. I should'nt have given him so much time to recover from my initial push.
Good game though.
Cheers,

ok last 2 battles i was unable to get screenshots
but they were st jores and periers.
made slow but solid ground on both maps, whilst being able to maim the allied forcepool at same time.
hopefully forcing the allies to do something rash in their movements for the start of the 3rd day.
