With help from you guys, I’ve got CC4 running on my laptop with Win XP home.
Now I’m trying to install CC5 and have used the same tricks as with CC4; disabled firewall/anti-virus prog, installed the 5.01 patch, changed compatibility of app files to Me 98, but no go. I get “encountered an error with CC5.ICD”.
I uninstalled and reinstalled a couple of times
I checked and there is no “.ICD” file in CC4.
What is a “ICD” file, and what does a guy have to do to enjoy some nice CC5 carnage?

Also, it seemed to help to disable DirectDraw (launch Direct X Diagnostics Utility by typing DXDIAG in the run file prompt) along with setting the app compatibility to Win 98.
So many people have this problem it might be helpful to have something in the "how to's

all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
