Hey Gents,
I am back after a long absence. I have been gone from CC for about 2 years. Like a lot of guys I just got busy with life.
I have been in the game playing online since CC1. Mostly under the name Sgt Fury, Sgt Nickolas Fury, or Nickfury. I probably played against a lot of you guys at one time or another, but I think most of the guys I played regularly have moved on or like me took time off from the game.
Used to play a lot of GJS and SAS, along with a little Meuse and REG Extra, and the Finnish/Russian Mod (name?).
Looks like Stalingrad finally came out. Haven't gotten to play yet.
I even snuck off a few times to play Rome Total War and Civilazation and HalfLife2/Counter Strike. But I always get bored and end up back with Close Combat.
Since I last played sometime in Fall 2005, I sold most of my belongings, and went to join the French Foreign Legion. I spent 3 weeks in Selection in Aubagne, France, but didn't make the final cut. One hell of an interesting time.
So I had a few hundred Euros to my name and had no home (sold everything), so I had to act fast. Six weeks after failing selection I got a job in Korea teaching English to kids from Kindergarten to Middle School. Fun, but LOTS of work! Damn those kids will drain your energy. Another adventure of sorts, as Korea is quite different from life back home in the U.S. but I love it here.
I have been here almost 2 years and am due to leave in a few months.
Going to travel a bit in Asia, Philippines, etc, go home see friends and family, hang out in Hawaii with my brother and go to my High School reunion then planning to join the U.S. Army next August.
But while I can I hope to get back into the game and play a bit with you happy bastards. I have all the original cds for CC1-5 as well as CCM's back home in a box somewhere but didn't bring them to Korea. Then by a happy accident a few months back I was shopping at one of the huge Tech markets and saw a box of older games for sale cheap. CC5 was one of them!
Haven't had time to download everything and set up till now. Hope to do a few GC' when I can find time.
Good to be back.
Nick

I just hope that you had some time to have somle pleasure in Marseille area.
There are a lot of Mods to play, if you want to. Stalingrad is obviously one of them. Manoi has done something perfect.
If you are interested in the Africa side, Africa 40/41 is as well for you.
What other mods? ALL! Since you left, CC has been living and really giving to the players a lot of fantastic mods. CCV winter War, Battle for Berlin, El Alamein for instance are in the list.
If you like Winter mods, then Stalingrad:Der Kessel is for you..until the Stalingrad:Operation Circle release on January 10th, 2008.
I forgot a lot of other free, artisian mods (the best). Sorry for those who developped them. They are all on the top
I got a chance to have some fun in Paris before and after I went to Legion selection (flew in/out of Paris). Also had a wild crazy time in Aubagne/Marseilles area with some new Legion friends and Anciens (ex Legion). Was a good time, might go back to Paris for Bastille day in July 2008. Really enjoyed my time in France.
I downloaded Stalingrad and played it a bit last night. DAMN! It was brutally hard playing as the Russians. I definitly need to practice that mod and work on my tactics.
Africa Mod looks pretty interesting too!
Lots of new mods to check out. Looking forward to it.
Thanks!
Nick

Great to hear from you Brian. Damn I remember we played way back in the day. I think I remember playing you when you first came to CC. Started kicking your ass, then you quickly turned the tables on me.
Good times.
Hope life has been treating you well.
Maybe see you online sometime.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited
and found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some
of the great Close Combat mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank
all the members of our volunteer staff that have helped over
the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
