I'm sorry for the somewhat late reply, I've been quite busy with Ortona lately so I forgot to reply over here. I Checked the pln out and found out it contains the old exe file. I've posted the correct one over here and wil contact mooxe in order to update this error.

1 note you might notice that the ranks graphics during gameplay don't seem to match up. This error needs some more looking in to. Will try to solve it as soon as I can

Cheers Buck

[quote="mooxe";p="92957"]Anglosniper, what error are you receiving?

Hi Mooxe

to be honest I cant exactly remember the issue as it was a year ago but its currently unpayable. One of the issues though is that your cant place sprites in any kind of cover. It was unplayable so had to give up on it.

Thanks

AngloSniper, as an concept it is possible to replace the files, only you have to pay attention to the exact number of files, their extension and name, the graphic characteristics and so on.

/s

I think this is way beyond my current level of understanding and I certainly dont want to break anything but thanks for trying to help.

No, the effects.azp from GtC is definately not compatible. I spent a considerable time and effort to convert them to look their best in the older CC releases. - See related post on this on the modding forum her on CSS.net
Difference being that the GtC edition has 32.bit graphics with an alpha channel - and the older has 16bit graphics and no alpha channel.

This is why I wrote that you have to change out the smoke graphics from LSA with the one from the TLD edition of the GtC explosion mod and then repack.

Hey, thanks for elaborating. Im a total rookie at game modding but I have to say applying these mods has probably taught me more than I ever learnt anywhere else. So im clear, I can take the smoke graphics (is this a file or some code?) from the TLD GTC explosions mod, I can then replace the existing LSA one with it and that should do it?

Thanks again.

Hi sniper,

I probably forgot to include the smoke in the LSA version.. But you could unpack it from TLD or any other version that has it and include in a repacked Effects.azp for LSA.

Hey thanks for the response ScnelleMeyer. Dummy question, but is that process as simple as copying the effects.azp from GTC and dropping it into the same location in LSA?

Cheers

Does anyone know if the burning vehicle smoke from GTC was ever made available for other versions? To clarify I have added it to LSA but I only get the new explosions, not the smoke. Thanks.

I have since figured out that this only seems to be a problem with LSA. Can anyone advise how to get GTC smoke in LSA?

There is no practical way to apply the Matrix patches to this mod - except purchasing PITF game, thus the patch, apply the patch and then transfer the updated files from the PITF install to the GTC Pitf-mod.

The German voices is located here> C:\Matrix Games\Close Combat Gateway to Caen\LOCALFX

The file you are looking for is named > GEVox.sfx

It needs to be moved to the Pitf mod folder within the > Matrix Games\Close Combat Gateway to Caen\Pitf-modfolder\LOCALFX

Thanks, I think this will still be a good game without the update, much appreciated.

What do you mean by "patched"? - except the voices you mention.

The German voice file you can copy-paste from the GtC files if it is missing in the mod.

Hi thanks for the reply.

There is a more recent patch available for PITF for you need a series code to install it. Given the mod isnt a purchase, I have no serial code and therefore cant upgrade to the most recent patch.

Could you advise which German voice file Id be looking for, location and where to move it to?

Thanks again.

Has anyone also noticed the Germans have US voices, regardless of language setting?

I'm playing the Kessel mod on cc5,  have downloaded the cc5 version of this explosions sub mod, and put the Pln file into the plugin folder. I've then used config manager to install but it still is not working. Does anyone have any advise?

I like to track the life and achievements of individual soldiers by editing their team names to indicate medals won. What would be cool would be if at the end of a battle, operation, campaign ... a slide show of medal winning soldiers, their kills, medals won and status came up with emotive music in the background a la the end of The Pacific. Im sure it would be a pretty easy code and you could use stock pile black and white photos of troops!

I don't know why I think this would be cool other than it would attach greater personality to the soldiers you command and would provide a suitable ending to a campaign which so far has been lacking!
