That's awesome. Great AAR and great screenshots.

3V3 -- who would have ever thought CC could be such fun?

Ha -- found a pathing bug. Who would've believed it? Moved a truck into a field to pick up troops. Trouble was it couldn't move out -- "the path is blocked" over and over. Honestly, though the game is cool in terms of multiplayer and maps, did they do anything else to stock CC5?

It all started with a simple conversation.

Then hurt feelings led to a challenge.

The Soviets (Op For) decided Marines are wussies. They boasted that they
would take back control of the main town, thank you very much.

The Marines begged to differ.

Once the other players got Boar to stop snorting heavily into the microphone, they allowed him to join them in a game using Mooxe's excellent Teamspeak server for comms.

My force:

With the able Pzt_Mac as our commander, the Russians (Op For) made their battle plans. Opposing them were the dreaded Senior Drill and the unknown wild card AT_Zappi4.

The initial plan evolved around Boar's force, the blue at top, moving his main group in a hook up to the area indicated by the rectangle, behind
a ridge.

The Marines threw a wet blanket on initial maneuvers with a gunship strike

Luckily our answering artillery took its toll on the Marines guarding the town.

Mac was hit hard in the south by a rogue Abrahams driven by wild-man Drill,
while Boar got peppered with supporting fire from the town by Zappi.

Boar and Mac rallied, though, pinning down the enemy within buildings in the town, and Mac marshalled the last of our fire support to good effect.

Boar's men move into Terkov, with Mac coming up from the East.

A pesky stand by Zappi takes a heavy toll on the attackers.

Boar's hero of the day is an immobilized BMP that sprays buildings with glee.

Time runs down to the wire. Despite a last minute rush our men fail to capture the town center, though we have driven the enemy to the point of breaking. Victory is surely ours.

What? Due to an international resolution, the U.S. is unjustly declared the "winner" and given our village as a bonus victory location! This is an outrage! We demand a rematch! But next time we're bringing our cossacks ...

Mr. BMP-3 -- my favorite vehicle of the battle.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
