Having downloaded and played this mod over the last couple of days, I just wanted to come on and express both my thanks and congratulations to panzerjager on such a wonderful piece of work. The time and effort put into the mod I find frankly amazing, from the maps, sounds, artwork etc. to the outstanding historical accuracy.
I've just started the grand campaign and after meeting the fearsome KV-1, get a bad case of 'panzerfright' whenever one of the armoured beasts start rolling towards my positions! After I've given the mod the attention it deserves, I'll come back and update you on how long my Kessel was able to last...
Again, a big thank you to panzerjager.

An early prototype of the British SA-80 (L85A1) rifle, manufactured by Lee Enfield.
The early models delivered to the British Army were found to be of poor quality, various components snapping off etc.. leading to many re-designs.
The SA-80, despite looking quite natty and futuristic, is not popular amongst British armed forces personnel due to a number of drawbacks. The most notable being the inability to fire left-handed (spent cases would fly into the soldier's face), a cheaply manufactured, shoddy bayonet and the comparatively poor stopping power of the 5.56mm round compared to it's predecessor, the L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle (SLR), 7.62mm round. |

Personally I think the unwillingness of certain NATO allies to honour their agreements, whilst British, Canadian and American soldiers are hard pressed to contain a numerous and well-supplied enemy, is appalling.
I'm no supporter of Blair's Labour Government, they've done more harm to this country than good after almost a decade in power, but I'm a supporter of our brave soldiers, packed off to some of the most inhospitable locations on Earth, with the bare minimum of equipment and support, and expected to not only defeat a fanatically determined enemy, but also conduct re-building and peace-keeping initiatives.
That British soldiers are fighting for their lives a comparatively short distance from our supposed allies, who sit safely ensconced in the placid North and refuse to come to their aid, is a disgusting state of affairs. Of course this has nothing to do with the German or any other international military contingents, whose bravery cannot be doubted, but the political manoeuvring of our respective governments and their attempts to embarrass each other.
Damn all the politicians I say. |

Dear CC veterans,
Being newly posted to this front and given only rudimentary training in the handling of my PC '98, could someone kindly explain, in language suitable for a small child of limited intelligence, how I'd go about installing this nice looking mod?
Cheers,

Dear Comrades,
Was Close Combat 3 ever re-released? I'd like to get my hands on a copy, but the bloody thing's rarer and more expensive than a Faberge egg!

4) ask you: Please, please, please, make available for downloading of the v1.1 version. It is available now for a lot of days and I can tell you that it is a 10 minutes work at the same time you are having a dinner with your family (as a french, I just hope you spend more than this for your dinner: joke!!!). SDK fans are really waiting for it. PLEASE DO IT. I have from my side spent a long time for SDK, not only sometens of minutes, I can tell you.

I second this, if only out of the purely selfish desire to play the thing!
I raise my glass to you pzjager, not only for your wondrous creation SDK, which I hope to one day play once I've got my bloody computer sorted out, (like the Italian M11-39 tank, it's under-powered, under-armed and looks like it was designed by a small child with a broken crayon) but also because you've stuck by your guns.
One day I hope to meet you on that great battlefield in the ether, Gamespy.
Take care my French friend,

Afternoon all,
Just installed the fantastic looking Stalingrad mod, after some teething troubles, and was settling down for an evening of either defending the Rodina or crushing the Bolshevik hordes, when to my disappointment I was only able to participate in a limited amount of Battles, no Operations, no Campaigns.
Is this an error that has occured during installation, something further I need to download, or simply I've offended someone important and therefore aren't able to join in the fun?
Please help a bored comrade fight the good fight.
Cheers,

Cheers for the invitations, give me a little while to adapt to GJS and the responsiblilty of commanding my fellow countrymen (no more bayonet charges over open ground with a callous disregard to casualties) and I'll join you on that great battlefield in the ether.
I'm brewing up, fancy a cuppa?

Just wanted to thank all involved in developing GJS, just installed it and it blew my socks off!
Absolutely flippin' brilliant! No more having to command the miserable Yanks, we get to fight the war from the British perspective for once, and about time! :brit
I'm no techie, but the map creation, unit development and the strategic overview must have taken bloody ages, only to be made free to all and sundry. Straight to Heaven for you lot!
Again, many thanks to all involved.
