Is there anyway to undelete a saved game? I fucked up and accidently deleted something but I don't see the deleted game in my Recycle Bin. Is that game saved?

I've never seen this map before-it's awesome! How come it isn't my campaign battle map? Is it useful for anything or did someone just make it up? And why is Rauray, my current battle not on there?

oops forgot to post the map! Here it is

Why not? If you have pictures then he must have released them to the public himself. I can see why you wouldn't use them in a mod without consent but not showing something that has already been shown before seems a bit ridiculous.

Ok I got it figured out now. All it took was to play one battle and save and all the names of all the troops on the map are there. One final question. Can I have spaces in a name? Or does it have to be unbroken? And how long can a name be? For example will the nick "Skull Buster" be ok to put in?

One thing I noticed is that when I create a new campaign and save it and then open it up in the hex editor, there are no names. Am I going to have to actually go through a battle with them first, and then save the game and then edit it?

Hmm ok this doesnt look as easy as what I was hoping. I guess what I have to do is start a campaign, choose a group to edit, look at their names and then search for their names in the hex editor and replace those names with the names I want. Is that it?

No, again that doesn't help me. I don't want to throw in some random names into the team names list. I want to start up a campaign, save it and then choose a certain company from my saved game and change all of the names of the soldiers in that company. I'm only interested in following the progress of one company throughout the entire campaign not some soldiers randomly sprinkled across the entire map. I want to name my Bren group Bob, Dave and Charlie.
Nembo was able to do it but it appears that he has gone MIA Sad

I cant get it to work for CCReq, it tells me it's for operations only. What program did you use Nembo? How do you do it?

Ok here's the final product! It's a little rough around the edges I know but what the heck! It's my first one. I ended up using ULead instead of Image ready because it's just one hell of a lot more userfriendly. I'm sure that you can do some amazing things in photoshop but it's just way to complicated for me.

One thing I want to know is whether is is a better screenshot utility. UOSU works great when you're just taking individual shots for an AAR but with a gif I'd want it to be extra smooth. My finger is just not that great at taking evenly spaced .2 second screenshots. I know there must be a program out there because those gifs on the download page are literally 250 frames large. I'm sure as hell that someone wasn't taking those shots one by one!

Is there anyway to edit soldier names within the game? I know that you can open up the soldiername file and just throw in a bunch of names but what I want to do is start up a campaign and choose one company (or bde or whatever level it is) and edit the individual teams and throw in names of my friends or people who would happen to read the AAR I'm planning on writing (it's more interesting to read if you can follow your own namesakes progress right?) Is this possible? Or is it just wishful thinking?

Actually, to save you some time and heartache, I'm going to look online for some guides on making GIfs. If you know of any good ones that have helped you or are good for a newbie then please feel free to provide some links Smile

Err... ya I just fooled around with it and I have absolutely no idea how to 'add a layer'!! I see a layer tab but I don't know what the heck to do. Please treat me as a complete n00b who doesn't know jack about photoshop.

Ok I'm going to try to fool around with this tonight. Are you using only Image ready, or a combination with Photoshop?

I don't suppose you would be willing to write out a short step by step guide would you? Smile I understand where you're going with "layers" and what not but I am a total noob at photshop all the actual tabs that you have to click on and whatnot.

I'm still not quite clear about what you mean when you say you aren't adding the explosions and stuff to the original frame. I realize that each frame is independent from all the others and that the first frame has the terrain, but when I look at your gif in my gif maker all the other frames after the first couple are ONLY explosions and whatnot. There is no terrain whatsoever only white space. How do you make the terrain disappear?

Hmm yes I understand that part but it would seem that if you just keep adding layers and layers of the same terrain that would just take up a lot of space. I'll have to try it out and see what happens! Look for more questions later tonight! Smile
