I would say this is as close as a Close Combat series fan dream coming true.
I created my own scenario with 1 FJ company, 1 PzGrenadier platoon, 1 Pz IV platoon, 1 Scout company, 1 medium mortar company, 1 HMG34 platoon and 1 Ju87, 2 Bf109 and off map artillery. This mod is a blast!!! The setting was a 5x5m on some hilly region in Germany during a cold winter day in 1944. Overall damage was 70%. The firefights were so intense and long with concentrated fire and maneuvers as well with my support aircrafts straffing constantly.
The first thing that surprised me was the size of the map. I forgot that it was 5km so my FJ company had to walk 3km in the snowy forest to engage the enemy. But it was awesome to follow closely all skirmishes and assaults.
I still need to learn How to use the on map mortars, and How to fine tune my artillery.
My PzIV were no match to the 4 dug in KV1s tanks and I forgot to bring tank destroyers.
Overall I had a lot of fun mainly with the WWII mod which is my favourite setting. |

The Panther frontal armor was 30 degree slopped, so it was way more efficient than the Tigee's 90 degree |

Im really impressed with the difficulty of this mod.
The russians have 10 soldiers for EVERY team, as stated above, and launch really hard counter-attacks. Waves after waves of infantry.
Im having a blast, and my PzIV F1 has almost 200 inf kills in only 3 rounds. Gonna post a SS later |

Man this mod is amazing! It makes the AI really agressive!
Its really though because the russians have 10 men for every inf team, and they really make really hard atacks.
I really recomend this mod for solo playing. |

One of the most impressive PC games to hit the show floor this year at E3 is undoubtedly Company of Heroes from Relic Entertainment. For the first time, we're seeing real-time strategy games being released that really look as good or better than many of the first-person shooters out there. For while Company of Heroes looks great from afar, as a lot of RTSs do, it's when you zoom on down into the action that you realize exactly how detailed the units and world really are. After recently playing Ubi Soft's Brothers in Arms, the difference between the models is only very slight. And when you considering everything else that Company of Heroes does that other games don't, you'll be wondering how RTS games, or FPS games for that matter, will be able to go back to the status quo.

Hey guys,
I had this idea (dont know if this has been already implemented) about a CC Global War.
First we would pick a theather, ie: Normandy, then each player would sign up for a side. After you had selected your side each player would command a specific unit throughout the entire War, if you got your unit wiped out then its game over for you.
Each side would have a Commander, to give reinforcements, support and movement orders.
I think it would be great adding this kind of Role-Play to CC, so you could follow your own unit, your own soldiers the whole war.
Then at the end of the campaign we could give medals, badges, ribbons for the commanders of the best units. So we could add them on our forum's signatures for example They would act like some kind of Close Combat Community Official Prize
