i like my outlines to show cover and the unit badge to show cover as well.

because i think cover is a very important consideration, which is hard to judge without the outlines

i read somewhere that they used the team icon to show ammo, i tried that but i couldnt get into it, i'm just too used to how ive always played it. anyway, i can always tell when my men are running low on ammo... they dont shoot as much Rolling Eyes

the majority of Arg troops were conscripts yes, but they had professional command teams and some elite units.

there was plenty fighting on the falklands, there wasnt a great deal of fighting on sth georgia but the potential for it was there.
The Argentine troops did not roll over on the "malvinas" they put up some serious resistance and were quite well equipped to do so.

This link has a huge amount of info on the war.

It sure is, it crashed again last night after a brilliant show from me, i had 3 heroic units, my flamer team took out about 3 rm commado squads, my marder was darting about causing lots of trouble and it survived the battle plus i had the last survivor from a leader team move fast across open ground in front of a (busy) allied tank in order to support my shreck team, very heroic and the 2/3rds of the shreck team survived an infantry assault because of it.
The main jip is of course is the crash, we will try a truce before 00.00 next time we play, i hope it works, but u can be sure i wont play as well Crying or Very sad

It would be cc5, i think units of US troops from rsr could be altered to represent the Argentine forces, UK forces from rsr could be altered for the UK troops (with permission of course).

I would be more than happy to help on this project but as ive said i dont know anything about modding or mapmaking, i could research the weapons that were used, and try to find existing maps which could be used for the battles.

we're playing gjs44 patched, it installed fine, someone has told mark that it may be a windows xp sp2 issue, which i'm going to look into now.

{update}

ok we set it to run in 98 compatability mode, and it finally saved :ok2

we must have played the map 10 times and the one it finally saves on, was my worst performance by far Crying or Very sad sods law.

Hi Mafi, i had a look at the link you sent, but i coulndt find what you mentioned, couldnt see the search button.
(edit) Found the search button now!

i dont know anything about modding but it seems to me that existing maps could be used, existing soldier graphics could be used, weapons files from rsr probably wouldnt require too much modding.

I'm i being naive here?

turns out the patch not uninstalling correctly was the problem, i dl'd a reg cleaner called jv16 powertools v1.3, it cleared the remnants of the patch, then i reinstalled everything. problem solved.

if only it were that simple! i have tried that, it being the most obvious possible solution, it didn t work.
My m8 reckons it might be that the patch hasnt uninstalled properly, im going to look into this. but if anyone has any tips as to how to ensure that the patch is removed completly i would very much like to hear from them.
Has anyoine else done this?
Is there a good free program i can dl which would do this?
