you can't use overwhelming numbers (a basic requirement for most attacks IRL) in any CC game except cc3/coi, because of the stupid way the whole unit selection thing works. it simply isn't possible to have more teams than the germans, because everybody gets to fill up all their slots. you can have more tanks i guess, but that means you have less infantry. even in LSA, where you can attack a square with 2 BGs, this doesn't let you bring more troops to the battle. this is one thing i've always hated in every single cc game (except as mentioned before cc3/coi, where because of the point system you get plenty of instances where you can only have a handful of teams) |

UPDATE: Ok I seem to have most of it figured out (SFXPack, qclone, etc); problem is can I add extra nations to cc4, like you apparently can in WAR? or am I stuck with simply 1 and 0? |

I'm gonna play Kreta mod with a friend; I've noticed there's a little greek voices submod. What I wanna do is give the maori battalion Maori voices; they simply have the default British voices. In fact I could redo the voices for the australian and regular NZ troops too, but lets not get carried away
can someone give me a quick rundown as to how I would do this? it wouldn't be that hard would it? thanks a lot |

hey guys im playing the longest day, just wanna know if its a waste to use my naval barrage against guns in bunkers. i know it owns units in houses
peace
also is it just me, or do guns get spotted instantly? my team mate rages hard, cause as soon as soon as i get LOS on his guns, whether they be in houses bunkers or brush, i spot them instantly. then they got owned pretty hard by mortar or my tanks. in cc3 you could hide your guns in houses, and especially in fields and grass, so theyd be invisible until you basically ran over them. anyone got any tips for hiding guns in cc5/the longest day, or is it just impossible? |

do i get new units every day, or just all the landings on the 6th and the couple of new units on the 7th? also do i get any armored units, because the couple of german armored units have a shitload of tanks compared to my inf units ahah
also one more thing, do i get to reinforce my battlegroups like in say GJS?
thanks |

i have one more question. for some of the beaches it says dont worry about pockets of resistance to the south of the map, just clear the main points and let future units clean up. does that mean i can take the road out on the beach map, and therefore move my unit off the beach, letting the next unit to land on the beach finish the germans off? |

also does anyone have a definite answer for the effect of night? my opponent says it has a huge effect; its why ive been able to sneak up and flank him all the time. but im not so sure. should i rest my battlegroups during the night or keep hammering him? does resting bring cohesion back up? |

man i dont know how im supposed to take every map within the first 24 hours vs a decent player, but im gonna try. the whole exhaustion thing rages me, there have already been several instances where i couldve taken the map, but the battle ended due to exhaustion. or his force morale drops too far and the battle ends prematurely, when i was going to take the map anyway. i've just finished the night battles, we are on to june 6 now.
will my axis opponent get a chance to do any counter attacks at all? or is it just gonna be me attacking every square. i dont know if he gets an panzer units or not |

it says 4 days, but surely it goes longer? i mean carentan was taken on the 13th of june, wasnt it?
does the campaign lead more inland, like original cc5? or does this new campaign just revolve around the initial couple of days at the beaches? |

hmm that could be a good idea. what amount of points would u recommend? or maybe i should just limit the amount of squads germans can deploy in any one battle? |

i am playing the longest day, a friend and i just bought it. i noticed some battlegroups have a restricted amount of troops to deploy. i still much prefer the cc3 point system tho |

coming from cc3, one thing which rages me about cc5 is that the battles have even number of troops on the map. how am i supposed to attack a good player without some kind of numerical superiority? especially when the german units are often better. It just ruins the experience for me. i know the allied units get to reinforce their battlegroup, but i still think its stupid and unrealistic that you basically have to throw even numbers of troops into the battle and wear them down, then reinforce. are there any mods that change this a bit?
thanks |
