Thanks!

Some of the links don't work though.

You wouldn't happen to have the Kharkov map?

Wasn't sure where to post this.

I was wondering if there is a collection of the strategic maps of the games and mods out there. I tried to search a bit but wasn't finding any.

Like this one Mooxe posted: http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/images/stratmaps/afrikastratmap.jpg

Thanks!

This was one of the first CC5 mods I installed seven or eight years ago when I got back into CC. It was great fun to play!

It's too bad you don't have time to update because it was a great piece of work on your part, Sapa.

Thanks for making it in the first place.

Been a few years since I posted but wanted to share some thoughts on SD44 as I play it regularly.

For CC fans, you'll find a lot to like. It's the type of command and combat you're all used to on the field. The Iriszoom engine is very cool in that you can go from basically satellite type viewing all the way to the dirt. It's the engine they've used since Wargame: European Escalation, I believe. There are some videos out there where you can see how it plays. I've had a lot of fun with it since it came out. The MP can be a blast once you get the hang of it.

There are some downsides...this is a game dying for a CC5 style grand campaign and map. They started to do stuff like that with Red Dragon but have taken it out in SD. It's kind of a bummer as it was moving in the right direction.

I'd be happy to link up with anyone wanting to play. Although, I'm in the PST timezone now so might be hard to find times. Just PM me.

The file says it saves as 11.5 kb but when it is viewed in explorer it is only 5.73 kb. The archive is not viewable and states it is corrupt.

Thanks.

Hold on...the guy making bold faced multi-color posts is telling me I'm moronic? Wow...and not sure if you know how it works but you actually did dignify me with a response.

All I know is I understand why this place is so small....all you fucking morons drive people away because you're internet pricks....warning to new players...haha you assume that someone is pirating CC5 and then getting all excited to come here?

These forums are so sad...mooxe I have to say it's interesting that you seem to facilitate this by not actually moderating these forums. I don't know if this is some "everybody has free expression" thing or what but this doesn't help this community it hurts it.

This is a great place to get CC mods but a terrible place for communicating with other fans as everyone just wants to be a dick to everyone else.

The current developer is unable even to replicate the quality of the original Atomic games.

What do you mean by quality? All the bugs the games shipped with or were discovered later? Or the mistakes they never fixed?

Quote:
With that low standard, how can they ever take CC to the next level. And it’s not about money, or resources… It don’t take any longer or cost more money to get codes right if they know what they are doing.
It’s a matter of competence.. If one is silent about this, or blindly supporting the developer, how we ever expect to get a better CC..

If u wants to I can post some links to the quality issue post I made.

If you have all these abilities then do it yourself. All I hear from here is how no one at matrix knows what they are doing...well if you seem to know what to do then get off the pot and do it!

If there was any sense left one would think that people like you would then want to help the devs in creating a game of the highest quality. Instead there are a few who want to bash anything coming out and give nothing in return (either money or skill sets).

I guess just keep pirating CC5 and all your problems will be for naught. If you don't care about the new releases then ignore them entirely. Instead there is an active campaign to slander them...to what ends only you guys know.

I enjoy the new games. They have issues, sure, but I'll continue to enjoy playing them for years to come.

But, mmm, this is exactly what many of us fear…. You just don’t get it, do you..

And your solution to this is - silence and blind support - of the dev team, whatever they do, or dont..

Rolling Eyes

Silence and blind support? Your out there pirating a game you want to see improvements too and then bitch at why you aren't seeing the improvements you want?

if you've noticed I've made repeated criticisms about the new games, however I don't run into the theater and yell the sky is falling every chance I get. I would call that neither silence nor blind support.

The newer games have issues, yes. My repeated point has been to state that Matrix is not EA with limitless money and manpower pools. That's something that no matter how many times it gets said people can't wrap their heads around. The thing is you and Lost have to act like cheerleaders in order to rile up the crowd and write moronic posts that appeal to the 4 people you are writing to. That isn't blind support. Blind support would be "BUY THESE GAMES!" If you've noticed I've never said that everyone should buy them. I expressed my support for their progress and hope the best and for that I get singled out as a person who silently and blindly supports taking your money.

If LSA, TLD, WAR, and COI are crap than shouldn't that cause them to fall off the radar because they are poor products. You say that's what you are afraid of, but that's exactly what you are trying to do through these idiotic posts. I'm pretty sure I get it very well. I'm just not sure what "it" you are chasing after.

To me this says everything about you and your type. You'd rather steal someone's hard work off the internet and then bitch. You seem to think you are the town-cryer alerting everyone to danger when in reality it's your type of people that are the real danger.

You're nothing better than an internet pirate and troll. How about instead of posting crap over and over again you shut up and do something?

But over and over and over again you need to run your mouth. If what you are saying is true then you shouldn't need to say a damn thing since wouldn't the products die on their own if they are such crap?

No the funny about this post is that most people "new" to Close Combat are coming from the newer releases.

I mean wow, just wow. I'm not even sure how this is expected to do anything except get people laugh at the stupidity of it.

Nice work morons.

You will see a Hamachi protocol. Disable it. I'd also recommend uninstalling it as well.

My post isn't worth considering so no offense? You know that's not how it works right?

I never said I was pleased with the new games. I said you should be glad you are getting something yes but you are confusing the two concepts. Do you think I enjoy products that are full of bugs? Of course not...don't assume my standards and then confuse it with a statement of sentiment. I think the new releases are positive steps.

I'm more saying you all have your heads so far up your own asses that you are going to fight the same fight every 3 months and do nothing by grow more disgusted with one another.

How do I not know what you are talking about? I understand it perfectly well. You are all bitching about the new releases because they have issues. Understandable. Then you are fighting over the merits of CC5 vs the new games for the 10,000th time. Have I lost you yet?

It makes perfect sense why so many people throw their hands up in disgust and leave here. Instead of being open to discussion you just want to be dicks to each other. It's like a 4th grade sandbox here.

This makes me laugh so much. You are criticizing people and products that you do not have a full knowledge of. Hell you are fighting over a list of bugs that hundreds of others talk about all the time, but because it doesn't happen to you everything is ok? (Mostly because you don't play the H2H where these bugs are often found)

If there's a whore here it's you for being so dumb. People are presenting valid information back to you and instead you just try to repeat the same sad and lame insults over and over. "Mahhhh that doesn't apply to me because I'm XYZ..." Awesome. It applies to others.

I have to say I find it hilarious that every few months the owner of this website brings up a topic that is sure to divided and angry people. Instead of doing anything remotely positive it's a constant rehashing of old arguments that will have no winner and loser. You've dug your feet in the sand and will hold them there no matter what you say to each other. So why the hell keep fighting the same damn fight when no one is going to change their mind?

All I can say is that most likely you will post some scathing reply about how I'm a prostitute and this and that. Which is fine. I just come here to check out CC-related stuff. After a year here I can see why many ignore the forums. It's just a constant fight that is stirred up over and over that only divides people. What a waste of seemingly good talent and energy....
