Is there anyway of knowing which units are not going to have any fuel once you start a battle?

Say you have 4 tanks, but only one has no fuel (immobile), Is there a way of knowing which one when you are placing you starting position?

Thanks, started playing it and it is tough of nails...

Question: One frustrating thing i see is that sometimes some units will refuse to fire under the pretext of saving ammo, even if their life depends on it. So they die with ammo. Is this due to the:

a) Vetmod

b) "Always obey orders" not being checked

c) Being badly trained or low morale units.

It can't be lack of leadership as even the Zug units do it to.

Attack from two different angles and use smoke. A minimum of 3 infantry units is what i prefer to use for each MG nest.

One thing that dislike and that's really missing in the command options is a "Hide" order. "Ambush" does this, but the problem is when you want your unit to be selective about who or what to ambush.

For example, you want a Bazooka team to ambush a Tank and hold your fire when an infantry unit is around. You want your unit to hope they don't get spotted and let the infantry unit pass.

The opposite is also true for a MG unit. Is there's a tank there in front of you and you can't really hurt it, then shut the hell up and stay down.

Are there any solutions to this annoyance?

Thanks!

Judging from the number of forum posts, it would seem that CC5 is by far the most popular. I will get GR and all the patches/mods that i will need.

In regards to strategy against AI, i use a simple formula: Defense then counter attack. It's easy to figure out where AI will go. He'll go after the closest VL and if that attack fails (usually after 2-4 units have attempted), he'll refocus on another VL. During that time, he'll use up his mortar fire against your defensive positions with very little effect. When it's your turn to attack, and hence be stuck in the open, his mortar fire will have been spent.

Use your MGs for defense and then as covering fire for your attack. Then move them up to repeat. Same goes for your armor. Concentrate on one objective at a time and Attacking/Firing form multiple directions will make it easy to capture it.

Hello,

I'm new to this site and i'm pretty excited about joining. I've never played multiplayer and have grown tired of the not too good AI.

I have played the following CC2, CC4 and CC5. I see now that there are many other versions available. Which version is most popular and/or best to play with other players on this site?

Is there a FAQ for green cherries like me on this site. Do players typically do single battles or are campaigns more common?

I'm going through the forum right now looking at how other players battles eveolve. Good reads.

Looking forward to seeing you on the battlefield.

Thanks,

Heimdude
