Thanks for the replies.
Tripwire is correct, I could see the map by clicking in the in the Strategic screen but what I couldn't understand was the lack of map files called Platkow in the maps download. Presumably its Platkow in the Strategic screen but another name in the Maps folder, maybe Ps1 etc.
Yes Sapa it is your original 'bugged' version. First let me take the opportunity to say thankyou very much for your mod. It must have taken an enormous amount of your time and I for one do appreciate it.
I did read the previous posts about the Dll file and downloaded the one you made available. Before that we couldn't play H2H but the correct dll file copied into the 'Packages' folder enabled us to do so, thankyou again. We have played a number of games successfully except for one typical cc5 0.00 time crash. This map problem was something different. As well as not been able to open the map H2H I couldn't open it as a solo battle against the AI. I also found that I couldn't then open maps which I could open before.
Problem solved. I should have done this scientifically but unfortunately I didn't. I downloaded and copied all the Maps into the Maps folder again. I then uninstalled and reinstalled the BoB mod. It now works fine as a solo player and will hopefully H2H. Whether the reinstall did the job or the original downlaod was suspect I don't know. If something similar happens again I'll try and find out and post it here.
Hope this helps someone else.
Thanks Iron45 |

Hi
I'm playing a camapaign H2H and have come across a problem. The game crashes when trying to play the Platkow map. On looking in the map pack I see it doesn't exist, Is there a work around or are the map files available elsewhere. I've looked in the individual map section but its not there either. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

Why not reinstall cc5 in C\Program Files\ rather than Program Files (x86) ? You get the opportunity to delete the (x86) when the installer asks you if its the correct folder. Worked fine for me and then everything else is straightforward. |

It may be possible to copy the files from the packages folders in Cfgv13 and replace with the GJS files but I suspect its a bit difficult. It would be easier to get another disc. I don't know where you are but amazon.co.uk are selling used copies from £4.98. |

It sounds as though the whole thing is corrupted. I hope I'm not telling you what you already know but I've been here any number of times.
The config manager produces a folder for each mod in the packages folder Cfg13\System\Packages\Karelia in this case. These are then swapped into the appropriate folders in the c:\program files\SSI\Close Combat Invasion Normandy. If cfg13 is interrupted half way through the files become mixed. I suggest you uninstall both cfg13 and the game, then reinstall the game into the SSI folder, a full install is needed I believe. Update with the 5.01 patch. Reinstall cfg13, put the mod into the Plugins folder in Cfg13. Fire up Cfg13 and it will take a while to create the Packages folder for the karelia mod. Its important that you don't put the plugin in the Plugins folder whilst Cfg13 is running or it can't produce the packages folder. Test to see if the game works, unzip the mod maps intoo the maps folder then install the mod through cfg13 and all should be ok. |

I'm not sure whether this is the first time you have used config manager or not but I suspect that there has been a problem either in use or when its been setup.
Install.txt is a text file created I think by config manager when it produces the packages folder for each mod. If you look in the packages folder System/Packages/'your mod' the text file should be there. If it isn't then try the following. Exit config manager, delete the appropriate package, Make sure the pugin is in the plugins folder and then fire up config manager. That way I believe it should produce another packages folder for your mod and another Install.txt file. If you open up the text file you'll see it has all the details in there that are required to install the mod. |

Since my first use of Gameranger when I experienced lag, i have used it a number of times since with a different opponent without problem. Indeed it seems to work as well as Hamachi and better than Gamespy. |

Solved the connection problem. Its simple when you think about it. Make a full install of cc5 but when it tries to install in C:\Program Files (x86) just redirect it to C:\Program Files then apply the CCV Patch 5.01a. CfgV13 can find the files and connection is no problem. I've played games successfully over Hamachi and Gameranger. |

Hi
I've had a new PC running windows 7 for 3 months now and although I've managed to get cc5 to run against the AI I got into a terrible mess when I tried to use config manager to swap plugins, maybe full installs will help.
In addition I haven't managed to play a cc5 game online although I have made a connection over Hamachi and have no problem with TLD - all required ports are open. As windows 7 puts the game in Program Files(86) will it connect in multiplayer from that folder or will I have to edit the registry to bring it back to Program Files?
Thanks for any help |

Have you tried a direct connection using TCP? I found disabling hamachi was necessary for a direct connection. Then there's being sure that all the correct router ports are open and firewalls set up for both players. I very much doubt that its anything to do with the mod. The black screen usually means that something is preventing the connection. |

Connected successfully tonight with ghost102 by IP using TCP.
I had opened port 6073, 2300 to 2400 already open and had Hamachi disabled.
Ghost 102 hosted and the first game went well but the second one froze at my end on 'Loading'. Anyone come across that problem before? |

Thanks for the help guys.
Unfortunately my router only allows me to port forward 11 addresses and I'm up to the maximum there already to enable connections in gamespy. Ports 2300 to 2400 are open but I'm unable to add 6073 unless I remove one of the Gamespy ports - I can probably do without voice chat.
I've bridged the hamachi network connection and now have the bridged hamachi network connection a network bridge (MAC bridge miniport) as well as my unbridged local area connection, as suggested by AtlasRedux. I hope this is what he meant. I am a novice at this sort of thing.
I'll try to connect again asap and see how it goes and will post again when its successful. |

Forum: Tech Support Posted: Sun Nov 01, 2009 5:18 pm Subject: TLD Connection problems |
Hi
I've been trying to connect with others for TLD games with mixed results.
One successful connection over Hamachi
Two unsuccessful attempts using Hamachi
Three unsuccessful attempts using direct IP connection one with Hamachi enabled and running, one with Hamachi shut down but the Internet connection still enabled and one with Hamachi internet connection disabled.
I can't understand why I can connect with the first one and not others. Do the operating systems have to be the same? I run XP. I can't see why but then I'm not an internet expert. Do the games on both the host and client computers have to have the same update to connect? I would have thought in that case they would connect but might crash when the game started.
Any ideas would be much appreciated. I know it is frustrating for a number of other people as well as myself. Thanks for your time. |

This is a new one to me, but just a thought, did you install it to the default location or one you specified yourself? It seems to me that the programme can't find the appropriate file. |
