ok got it all in by reading the forums.
I simply read that certain folders need to be in certain spots.
rather then unzip em all again I did the old click and drag which put them all in right spot.
I like Stalingrad but can it be programmed to be a 'sticky' patch rather then a reinstalled each time you unload ?
Btw Blackstump has shortest reasonable answer |

Forum: CC5 Stalingrad Posted: Sun Oct 16, 2005 1:04 am Subject: phantom deaths |
I have seen a couple of times already that enemy units (so far) are being killed by 'something' invisible. 1 particular one stands out as a german command squad 4 bldgs away near a VL indoors were visible to me at start of game after deployment. I watched in amazement as it was just cut down in rapid order AND I HAD NO LOS to them.
I am thinking it is a deployment LOS issue because I had also ordered a smoke screen from mortars and it was way short of it's target area. so maybe an unknown unit had its Kill zone right in front of the Command group that died mysteriously |

interesting posts especially Wruff's and Trogers. (no offense to anyone else)
Gentleman it is easy to quarterback from the stands, but lets point out a couple things that have occurred since (Mission Accomplished)
Libya has delivered to the United States (not UN) its centrifuges and other equipment necessary to continue Nuclear weapons programs and allowed ALL Nations access to its facilities to inspect them.
Iran has come under World scrutiny about it's programs, and tho bellicose towards the US (like thats new from them) is indicating compliance and willingness to work with the International community on Nuclear proliferation issues.
North Korea! ahh hell thats OLD news gentleman it is NOT President Bush's fault. this has been ongoing for decades and even the last President failed in his efforts to disarm them.
In Iraq, American AND British AND Italian AND Polish AND Spanish soldiers have died or are dieing for Iraquis who have been kept in check by brutality of the former regime. there ARE Iraquis, Brave Iraquis, who are beginning to stand up and say "enough! begone foreign fighters". The continued campaign to slow down the flood of men applying for Militia or police Jobs is evidence that the 'terrorists' know what will happen When (not if) the Iraquis become united in their new found freedom. |

aint they grand I was just curious as to how the foreigners view our system of politicing? do we go overboard?are we tame? you know . Or are we just plain NUTS (coocoo, coocoo!!)
also as I hear it many foreigners (non US) believe we should elect ? the person currently not president, because ____________ is bad for us. is this true?or more of the great American Media spin? any answer would be welcome even Crass answers.
Thanks |

installed on my comp and have no major problems with lag. usuallly tho the longer I play the more laggy it gets. usually 5 or 6 games in a row same player. probably due to packet loss (which CC5 has no measure of) |

Thank you PZT;
actually your method is about the only way you can fight back in many instances. direct fire at suspected enemy locations. following tracers and flashes. my experience to CC is not new, having played CC 2,3,5 and mods to 5! in all mods but SAS3.5 when you are engaged with DIRECT fire from an enemy unit it will' eventually' appear to you,IF you return fire or set unit on defend. Direct fire equals LOS. in SAS 3.5 I am finding MANY units remain out of LOS while engaging you with DIRECT fire. I am just curious if others are experiencing this same situation ?
we wil discuss the overpowered ostruppen later |

is anyone else finding it aggravating that enemy with direct fire remain hidden from your LOS?
i.e. you are advancing and an enemy MG opens up on you! death reigns in and your men are dieing. but you cannot see where it is coming from EVEN WHEN IT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU. you have to get close to your target to acquire LOS. this is SO unrealistic. I have been playing SAS for one week and am liking the mods and sounds but the LOS is p****** ** ***.
the other mods and original game have much better LOS. meaning if it is engaging you with DIRECT fire then you get to see where it is,very real world Methinks.
I am not talking about long range here folks many times it is very close and yet you cannot see exact position. |

connectivity
firewalls
FILE SWAP
some people tell me the game does not save as host if I go back to network screen B4 them. yet I will have the file saved.
I use winXP home
2.8ghz intel P4
1000 meg cable modem
Norton AV
windows firewall
I get a rare crash (today I got one)
but I also had a period where I crashed constantly on one certain map of my GJS campaign. went thru 7 players until Mooxe(who has best latency to me) played and got me past it. that map never crashed again
most may be crashing due to file swap incomplete and one comp is moving onto next step |

it would be nice to locate the old step by step installation pages from the CSO site if not someone who is very proficient in mod installation could create a sticky post for reference
