there was...
the heavier arty guns,

mud,
you forgot about all the russian tanks,
rockets (eg the hawker typhoon's 60lb rockets),
armour piercing aircraft guns (eg the cannons on Il2M-3),
mines,
anti tank ditches, tank traps,
airstrikes on their factorys,
many many other weapons, and last but not least,

1. (I assume you mean occupied by the enemy) The best way to enter is 'move fast', as your troops will grenade the enemies and then assualt them.

2. The effectiveness of the mortar depends on the type of house - a stone house provides better protection from mortars than a wooden one.

3. The grand campaign is easier to win as Germans usually, and the Germans have much better units and equipment (e.g panzerfausts for most infantry units).

4. Snipers are good at picking out leaders; the best way to use them is just to leave them on 'defend'.

5. many people play online. See this link for info -

thin armor yes but rifle /smg/Lmg CANNOT penetrate.

They can if 2 shots go in the same place.

I would assume that that was more of a test bed then any thing realy meant to see combat. It was common practive to test out new weapons/engines on old planes that weren't needed at the front. What the germans realy needed was more Hs 129 known as the Panzerknacker, (tank cracker). Thou slow and ungainly that small plane was well armored and carried a good punch. One of the final varients mounted a modified version of the same 75cm cannon as the Pz IV.

No, they needed a Ju87G1. It packed two anti tank guns.

These would penetrate most armoured vechiles with ease.

The tank main gun would not shoot as its elevation would not be high enough. The plane would attack from an 80 degree or so angle as to pierce the top of the turret.

I think that aircraft is a Fieseler Storch reconnaisance plane. That would be way too slow to use in combat, and was probably just to test this method of rocket installation.
By the way, here is an Fw190 mounted with a better version of rockets -

These were WGr.28 anti tank rockets. Some Fw190s also carried 88m
panzershreck 2s, Panzerblitz 1s and R4M rockets.

You do that on the battlefield, not on a Strategic map. One commander would not control both strategic and tactical elements - they would both fall to differently ranked soldiers.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
