PostForum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy   Posted: Fri Nov 02, 2007 2:32 pm   Subject: RSR 1.0 question; editing buggy units
Hello all,
I'm putting this out there to all of you who seem to know your way around the modding and editing of CC5. Please see Antifa's post in this thread:

http://www.closecombatseries.net/CCS/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=491&highlight=rsr

He speaks of editing the buggy units in QClone, which I tried (see my post at the very end of topic), but I seem to have done more bad than good, as my Marders seemed to crash the game as soon as they fired.

Before, things were pretty stable, but the Marders were lame ducks without their use of the Milan missiles. Additionally it would be nice to fix the BW arty spotter units, who seem to fire away (bravely, or stupidly) when ordered to spot for artillery. Either way, I enjoy the mod, and would like to play it without these annoying bugs, and would really appreciate some help if figuring out how to fix these problems.

Thanks all,
Cheers,

Major Wenching

I would add rifle and canon rifling in the list,...changed the nature of war overnight :
- wooden ships became almost obsolete
-ranges increased
-accuracy increased (the bloodbath that was the American Civil War is a testament to this, old tactic with new weapons)

and the machine gun, again, look at WWI

...maybe, maybe not...

PostForum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy   Posted: Tue Apr 17, 2007 7:49 pm   Subject: Crashing issues, and Marder perhaps?
Hello all,
I love this mod, and have gotten into the GC but I was ticked that my Marders couldn't use their AT missiles. I tried my hand at Qcloning the Marder's info as suggested in Antifa's post on page 1. However, on some maps the game crashes and boots me right back to the desktop. So far, the only thing I can see is that it happens on maps in which I use the Marder. Given that it is my first time editing anything (other than research papers), could it be that I messed up with the Marder's info and it's crashing because of this?

PostForum: Close Combat 5: Invasion Normandy   Posted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:58 pm   Subject: Solution!
Hi there,
I know this is an old post, but I didn't find anyother solutions in the threads. I fixed this by simply creating a new folder called "Original" in the config manager's "System" folder. The manager can then backup the original files to that folder no problem!

Hope it helps

Wow Sapa,
The mod is insane...i've only just started playing CC5, but i'm having a blast in Karelia as the Fins. Trying to stop the russia steamroller of armor is quite a challenge, and tons of fun!

Thanks guys, I tried searching the forums but didn't find anything to that effect. Should've been a little more thorough. Everything's gone all to hell now : I tried doing an uninstall/reinstall - didn't work. So I manually deleted the files, but now the setup will not install...it only tries to unistall the game, and doesn't actually do it : even in through the control panel it still lists CC5 as installed and will not uninstall or remove it from the list. Any ideas?

Confused
