Hi,
Stupidly easy???? Just start an SOC grand campaign and play during some days, let's say until 16 or 17th january.
Then, send me a pic of your situation and how you have kicked the soviet's asses....
Good luck
Cheers

Started today, when I have it with a few days running ... we will see
But its a quite interesting campaign. The extreme lack of supplies make it quite interesting. Although the IA still makes stupid moves live moving a KV 1 in rear gear in direction of a pair MK IV to retreat from a Pak that was ahead of it |

Ok , after some experimentation seems that the issue is really the executable. Although the stalingrad executable is not usable here. It complaisn of no CD even with the CD on the drive.
Usign the GSJ, or SOC executables I can run the game (even with stalingrad mod) but the campaign map gets screwed.
Any ideas why just stalingrad executable coudl not work? Just some pointers would be enouhg, I can hack and slash those bianries if needed, but have no idea where to start. And what differences a mod have on its executable. |

Hello
I am trying to play this great mod, that I know its great because I can play the battles and they are great. But the campaign h creates me a serious issue. The campaign map has the battlemaps all missplaced and mixed over the bacground map. Maps that shoudl be adjacent are not maps one over the other in same place, half the maps at east bank of volga...
what could be wrong?
THe only thing i didt out of the script is. I had to use another executable sicen the Stalingrad one asks for the CD. Coudl this cause the problem?
If yes, is there a way to play stalingrad withuot the CD, I really don 't want to use my criplingly old CD more than needed. |

I installed stalingrad 1.2 yesterday and works great except a single thing.
In the city map(campaign map) all the BG do not appear over the city they all appear offset to east ( on an amount that is pretty much exactly the width of the city). In fact all appears at east bank of the river. The real city map itself is a devoid of any usefulness area.
Any Idea what causes that? |

Thanks for all the responses.
Anything else I should be prepared to play online? I e heard about problems of CC V with firewalls etc...
Also do I need to have any specific port routed (even if I am joining a game?) ?My network is behind a nat, and I had issues in the past trying to play with other people (no gamespy) some CC games.
I am so anxious to face real players that don sit their tanks behind a house even when All i have left is 1 light machine gun an 3 rifleman. |

Thanks. and I mis-posted. I meant to say CC III (the re-released one) and CC V. My old CCII CD is already unusable
GameSpy games use mods too or only the native ones? |

Hi, I play CC for quite some time but never had the pleasure of playing online.
Obviously after some time the AI becomes stupidly easy to defeat so I was wanting to play against humans
So I wanted to know what are the most popular mods used online ( I have CC II and CC V). The mod I play most offline is GJS and would love something "similar". Also like it because it works without the CD (my CC V CD is in very bad shape and I want to keep it save as much as possible since I cannot find CC V for sale anymore)
And for last, how can I find people to play those? (btw I am Brazilian) |
