I'm really impressed, the one thing I've spotted is troop survivability, the game talks about tracking the experience of your troops through out the entire game, but......they don't last long. I do like the ability of mortars to zero in, a very supportive action.

Two days in and i'm still very happy.

PS....PiTF has the best looking strat map by far........... A very happy Piper out   Very Happy

I've been away for a while, but I couldn't resist PiTF, I like it, I like the confusion of not being able to see the whole map, and making the strat map crucial to the tactical maps is fantastic, I'm happy after a morning play testing. A big well done from me.........

Just to throw a spanner into the works for the more pedantic members of our community the M10 3inch gun was infact 2.99inchs in diameter or 76mm. While the 50cal's diameter is 12.7mm

The british .303 bren gun barrel diameterwas 7.7mm and the besa diameter was 7.92mm or .312inchs.........Piper

Ah.... its not the GJS mod but the unofficial update that causes the problem there are also some AB units that have the same problem they have 3 howitzer's that fire one shell then they pick up their rifles......after they run out of ammo for the rifle they revert to carrying their tank barrel....not sure what is happening?

No its the normal GJS mod, but using the extra teams you can gain access to with CC-Req. There is also an Ost troop team with a quad mounted Mg34 but in game they use a mortar?

I spoted this the other day when I played someone, I attacked their command team and they killed my team with what I thought was a tank, after this i re-made the sides with CC-Req and spotted these.

I have not had a look at the allies teams or the weapons ADB file yet, I just wondered if you knew about it already.........Piper

A small question for Anzac_Lord4war......When using CCReq to make custom maps the allied Hvy Hq squad has a weapon called open which looks like a tank barrel? when you open fire they fire like a howitzer shell once only. My question is.... is that right and have you made them this way? or do I have a corrupt file?

Its nice that such a person bought this medal but what a shame that no-one looks after the people or families that win them, we the modern society owe them so much they gave their lives freely for us to live ours and in return we ignore them at best! the world is an upside down place at times.

PostForum: The Mess   Posted: Mon May 08, 2006 10:07 pm   Subject: RAF Bomber Command's conduct during WWII
What i'm trying to say is at the time, bombing from the air was the only way we the "Common Wealth" could strike back! the moral of the british people was at an all time low with great losses at dunkirk and in the East. Did the Italians show any moral courage when they gased thousands of ethiopian people to win their victory in the Africa, and how many sleepless nights did Hitler have when he over ran Europe. All i want to say is that at that time the WORLD looked to Brittan to hit germany any way they could. As i did not live at that time ( thank god ) i try not to make any moral judgements for them. As an Ex member of the RAF i know how hard it is to hit a target with a bomb and not cause collateral damage. What we should be asking is? in a post 911 world why do we still make the same mistakes. In answer to your question the decisions made were made by one man not the british people. Why then do so many people hide behind the bad things the germans did Hitler never shot anyone and not all firing squads were manned by the SS.

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
