I'm using 2 comps at the moment ,vista in the livingroom and XP on the attic (so i'm not very much online anymore on GS)
I'm thinking to "downgrade" the Vista PC and install XP on it just to be able to play my favorite game in the livingroom again Smile

"I ran CC in win95 compatibility mode and it works fine in h2h now. I don't think that I really even had any issues with vista/cc compatibility. Just the usual stuff."

Would be nice Wruff if u post how u got it working ,as far as i know cc5 needs ipx/netbios to be able to play h2h and in Vista that's not available.

Gamespy doesn't support Vista either (yet).
Not sure if they are aware of it :zzz ,but more older games use it too (command and conquer for instance)
Well think Bill G thinks i earned enough bucks with these old games ,let them buy new ones Rolling Eyes

Well ,i know the answer now Very Happy ,cc5 and vista doesn't allow u to play h2h (not even on a LAN)
Vista doesn't support IPX/SPX/Netbios protocol ,so u can not connect to another player Shocked .

Back to XP or win ....

Well ,i know the answer now..
If u wanna play against AI ,no real problems.
BUT if u wanna play H2H forget it. Vista doesn't support "the obslete drivers" for cc5 (and more old games) anymore (ipx/netbios)

In August of 2004, Zappi, Homba, Bambam887, RedScorpion and MOOXE all pitched
in to create this Close Combat site. I would to thank all the people who have visited and
found this site to thier liking. I hope you had time to check out some of the great Close Combat
mods and our forums. I'd also like to thank all the members of our volunteer staff that have
helped over the years, and all our users that contributed to this site!
