I've played all the CC titles save Marines at one point or another over the years and probably have about a hundred hours of multiplayer H2H between Invasion Normandy, CCIII, and Arnhem.  One thing I've never figured out is how the heck I'm supposed to use snipers.

They seem to do extremely limited damage, dont appear to have any particular psychological effect, and get spotted and die pretty immediately.  I've always just removed them from battlegroups because it's hard to justify taking one over an MG team or additional rifle squad.  Is there some hidden utility to them I'm not aware of or are they just not a well-balanced part of the game?

Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this.  All the other boards looked totally inactive and I wanted this to be seen.

Hi, new poster here, though I've been playing the Close Combat series since I was a kid in the 90's.  Recently, a work friend that I game with had expressed some interest in doing a grand campaign with me and recording our progress on a livestream.  We decided on Last Stand Arnhem because it felt like the most 'modern' close combat game in terms of overall mechanics.   We also liked that the Market Garden campaign is just a little more dynamic than the extreme attack/defend scenarios like Invasion Normandy or BotB.

I'm streaming on twitch with the tag rowdy_ruckustv, but we're also exporting our sessions to Youtube.

I have no idea if anyone has any interest in actually watching this, but we'll continue to record simply because it's fun and easy to do.  I will apologize in advance that my friend and I are not accomplished WW2 historians.  Most of my knowledge of the conflict comes from cruising wikipedia during my lunch hours so if I say something that's not totally historical, please comment and let me know.

Also, I do swear quite a bit.  This is primarily F-bombs delivered with jovial intent rather than angry cursing, but I know some people won't care for that.

I'd love to hear what people think about whether we're any good at this game. Very Happy
