SFC Klemer, don't the short enlistments require a soldier to serve in the IR/NG/Rreserves for another 4-6 years?

Ok let me explain how this works, Say I enlist for 3 years, most usual standard enlistment option, when I get out I serve 5 years under IR, or inactive reserve. There is no annual training, or constant medical overwatch.
It doesnt matter of short or long enlistments, so if i do 5 I have 3yrs IR. Or If I do 8yrs thats no IR time.

Now officers have a different story, unless your commision is resigned you can be called back to active duty anytime.

Now the chances of a IR callup? My wife served 5yrs as Military Police, with 3 years IR, never got a letter or a phone call for IR. In fact you don't even need to update any system to say where you are living, hint, so most of the time if there is a IR callup it gets only 10 to 25% of the inital callup.

Now I have seen articles in newspapers and such the 30,000 ex soldiers are being IR recalled. I have yet to see it work effectively. Also if you do show up, thats not counting the people that get out of it through means of, I have a better life/job than in the army, or my health just dumped out on me, etc...

Out of the people I have met in the Army I have only met, 1 IR callup, he didnt have to go back to the Army after his re-evaluation. He chose too cause of what he missed. And out of his IR callup section, there were only 10 people, all volunteered to go back after the IR callup.

And another way to get out of IR callups....join the Federal workforce...so if you work at the post office, or a federal prison, your safe....there is so many ways to ditch.

Also with the amount of ways to bail out the IR, they rarely ever happen. There has to be extreme cases where a certain job area is short or something like that, and it takes congress to approve a IR callup.

Hope my short book helps....LOL :zzz Rolling Eyes Razz

This forum posts what quite a fun read....

Good old Ft. Benning Georgia...just there for basic or your a ground pounder?

Btw I have and am still serving in the US Army...11yrs and going...so anywho.

I do agree about the post, that for this type of community its quite a post, 1. international

2. CC is old, thus I assume most the players are past recuitment age. So not alot of feedback.

Also, as a reply to the Bush bashers and what not,
Its easy to criticize a nations president when he is on top, when you are a lowly unknown it comes hard to criticize. I like people that have thier own opinions. So don't look at it as me opinion bashing.

There are people that know whats going on, and people that think they know whats going on. And people that know enough but know too little of whats going on.

Its just my opinion...

What about "Modern Tactics", or "Road to Baghdad"- ( You are not aloud to play as Iraqi), You are hypocrites! What about bad feelings around the game? FSB keep killing people down there , but world forgot about it. This game was originally made in States, American kill Iraqis Ok, but You can't play as a fedain because it could be dangerous... In my opinion we should made this patch to show anybody how hopeless that war was. Problem is that Russians now became more proud to let anybody know what was happened in Kawkaz.

Wow, I was gonna say, dude rock out on this mod, that sounds like a cool mod and etc. But this is distrubing....LOL

If I understand your english well enough you, think we just walk into Iraq and pop one in the head? As far as RtB you can play as Iraqi's. Well you can on my copy. And are you saying the Iraq war is hopeless?

I have tried and tried to see if the AI does use those commands, but quite frankly I dont think they do. Mainly since the "game" is designed to be 5v5 and not really SP.

Just quick to throw in here as well is there any real difference in digging in as far as protection? I tried to notice one, but I haven't. My buddy just kills my dug in men like paper targets.

That and the dig in time sucks big time. In that amount a time a standard 11B (us army infantry) could build a nice all around cover. If they really wanted it to be used effectively, there should be Hasty and Elaborate Dig In functions. Which would kinda be cool...my little battling bastards getting mortars going off and they slam the dirt and make thier uniform buttons mate with the dirt while they strive to become one with the dirt would be pretty cool. Not to mention kinda realistic.

One final gripe, if the developers meant for this to be an army game, they should take out all the Marine stuff.

HA HA HA HA HA HA

But in all honesty, I dont really notice any difference between Marine stuff and Army stuff...hell they could have Air Force, but the air conditioners might be hard to render (insert laughter).

As far as American battlefield equipment, its all pretty much the same from one service to the next.

Damn stalky that tank looks awesome....and if you think you dont have professional stuff there, and you made it on your own, you need to render the vehicles, and fire whoever is currently making them....LOL

PostForum: Close Combat Modern Tactics   Posted: Tue Jan 08, 2008 8:10 am   Subject: Do you need modern tactics in this game?
LOL what a entertaining thread...

Goes from one question to a totally different topic.

For me my tatic is getting my men and vehicles to move properly to the area I want them. They sure got the effects of modern equipment cause to me they seem to move on normal move so slow. The first time I played CCMT I thought I had them on Sneak.

Also once a majority of the team made it to the AO i wanted them in, I noticed either the Jav gunner or MG gunner seperated or still stuck trying to his hearts content to get out of the building I first placed him in.

So I did what every good arm chair commander would do and dropped my own mortar on him.... Twisted Evil (hey he pissed me off)

Other than that, yeah in some way shape or form wether it be bugged or actual gameplay you do need to change some tatic's in certain situations.

But really tatics are tatics if its from 100BC to 2000AD, just with some adjustments here and there.

Wow...LOL

Thats a bit of sarcasm...I have it...but it seems everyone plays mods or something...and I have a bit of a hard time getting a vanillia game started.

Prime example, I saw you on Gamespy mooxe, yet I couldnt get a reply to you granted the time difference between Germany and Canada, but it didnt say you were away or in game...

Does anyone play CC5 anymore? If you do I would like to setup a game... as I have trouble finding someone to have a game with. And the people I play CC5 with are gone for deployment, and my wife is ok at it, but she doesnt play too much.

Thanks.
